I have an Alliance Broadband Connection with 160 Mbps plan and I am getting slow download speed when I connect my PC or Laptop directly to the Modem. However when I connected the modem to router and then connect my PC to the router I get high speed, though not 160 Mbps.
The speed which I am getting is :-
When connected directly to the modem : 9 Mbps DL and 156 Mbps UL
When connected through router : 144 Mbps DL and 154 Mbps UL
Also, when I speedtest to any servers located outside India or even most of the servers in my city (except few) I get 12 Mbps download and 153 Mbps upload speed (using router). When testing speed to Highspeed-check.de located in Hamburg I get less than 15 Mbps DL and 154 Mbps UL.
Could somebody help me with what's wrong due to which I am getting slow speed when directly connected to the modem or to other servers (when connected through router) ?
