In my home, I have my own power dns based recursive resolver that all the devices use for normal dns. Phones/ipads and other mobile devices use my public DoT/DoH server(Adguard Home) which uses quad9 and cloudflare as upstream servers. I don't use cloudflare as the only upstream since they don't forward EDNS data to the authoritative(or the next recursive resolver), It's possible to get worse results in response to a DNS query. Soo, quad9 and cloudflare as upstream servers, both of them being queried on each input query in parallel for best performance.

Download this app on your computer called DNS benchmark, and run the benchmark test on it(preferably using Ethernet cable). Before running the tests do add the DNS servers from the WAN connection info page in the router interface which are usually given next to the default gateway address, and are listed as primary dns and secondary dns.
My router is Tp-Link Archer C6 AC1200 using PPPoE mode, and I could find two places where the primary and secondary DNS server could be set. One is under Network> Internet> IPV4> Advanced and other at Network> DHCP> under Default Gateway. At present they are set as attached. Could you please say actually where should I set the DNS servers?

@neonbulb you set it under the ipv4 advanced section dns settings...”use the following dns addres...”

also I would say remove the values from the dhcp page..the default gateway and dns...I don’t think they are required. You may fiddle with it and check.

@harshvkrm Thanks mate. Lemme try. Also is there anything I need to set or change? Like in some screenshots I found that the 'Service Name' and 'Access Concentrator Name' were filled with some texts, can't remember the thread or forum. Also there's no issue with the internet at present, anyways will try and inform if it works or if anything goes wrong.
