I'm having a weird issue with JioFiber while accessing sites/servers hosted in the US.
When I do a speediest on different websites, it looks good.

But when I do a tracert to a website that is in the US, it takes a lot of time to load and I see a lot of "*" during the trace.
It looks like the way packets are travelling on JioFiber is different. I don't see any issues with Airtel BB/3G/4G.

Can someone help me out?

@rajat_ I have experienced only partial down times like I mentioned above. Apart from that, there have never been any down times.

And in case of issues like cable break, it entirely depends on your area. Here they are scheduled at a specific time on the same day (or next, if you raise SR at night) and they usually arrive before that and fix whatever the problem is.

Even RailWire was great in fixing cable cuts here 😂

And the set top box performs great. It is really responsive and doesn't lag. JioTV+ app is a great addition because we can find and watch contents from different OTT apps in the same place. However, for watching TV channels, I don't like it.

Their ONT is piece of trash for Wi-Fi usage but works alright if you use it with another router for Wi-Fi, or restart it once every 2-3 days.

So, the problem in accessing international server seems to be happening in Jio 4G and 5G too. Weird.

@rajat_ you should definitely give Jio Fiber a try. You will need to get OTT plans to get the STB and watch live TV on it. It doesn't matter if they are new in your area or not you should try and it should be a good experience overall. I have used their services for 2 years now and not a single downtime faced but again that is area based. Accessing websites and all effects sometimes but not something that you cannot overcome. You can use your own router as the stock router slows down within 2-3 days so you will need to restart.

The uptime has been pretty great with Jio Fiber tbh, never went down for the few months I used to have it, but it's just their practices of blocking and routing issues that I avoid them now along with their downstream ISPs.

As a backup connection, Jio works pretty fine. I am yet to face a downtime. But in case of cable break, they take 3-4 days to repair (at my friends area this happens a lot).
Yes you can take non-OTT plans, but the STB wouldn't work then. In order to watch the TV channels, you need to take the OTT bundled plans. Beware, once you take bundled plan, you can't downgrade to a non-bundled plan.
