Kerala: BSNL Bharat Fiber New Plans (30/100/200/300mbps)

@eriek_halenx they've been quietly doubling speeds for most of their plans. Even post fup speeds. I got quietly upgraded to 100mbps/5mbps from 50mbps/2mbps on 777 plan. Others on this forum with plan 849 got that as well.

I wasn't aware of any upgrades like this for the new plans though. Hope they get this to all u̶s̶e̶r̶s̶ customers.

I've emailed the SDE in Kollam (sdeftthcno@gmail.com) regarding this and request for upgrade for us in Kollam. Will update what he says soon.

On Twitter, the @BSNL_KL said not presently available in 0474 area, but I replied with a tweet back from May posted by BSNL_KL saying Kollam has the activated the most new connections in South India. @BSNLCorporate replied with "Forwarded to the marketing team"

@varkey BSNL probably improved. My plan is activated without any follow up. Received Hotstar premium as well. :-D

anyone here successfully got new connection in Ernakulam for the new plans? I tried calling exchange many times since the new plans released, had to apply directly on Oct 15th, they still didn't do installation, they gave me a number to call just yday after not picking up for a week. They asked exact location and said would call back, but no response after that. At this rate, I will get connection only at year end when plans expire.

That isn't about the new plans but about your LCO/BSNL exchange. You'd have keep annoying them, not just by phone maybe even in person to come install. That's the sad truth of BSNL 🙁 The new plans are indeed available in EKM and TVM.

I live walkable distance to a BSNL exchange(they made me go to another one for applying connection though), both are not picking up calls, don't know what to expect after getting connection if installation is handled like this. Can we change plan before connection is initialized, or plan changes can be done in a web portal?

Plan changes can be done through the web portal. You can apply for the new plans from the start (i think) or you can change it anytime through the portal. I'd suggest you go there in person, speed things up. Mine took less than a week.

Hmm, I dont think the exchange near me is handling installation, the number I contacted yday was asking direction from opposite direction, they picked up again now, but it was different guy talking and said he didnt know, will call back. I am just going to hope for BSNL to continue the 449 plan next year then, not willing to rely as primary connection.

@abbyck hmm I see. It is not available in self care of course. I got bored yesterday and called up the customer care and I asked him were it available, he seemed convinced, checked up a couple of times, and said, some plans might not be showing in SC, like the lower plans, and that you can call up the exchange ask to change em. Perhaps the new guy, throwing us hope. Let me try the exchange.

He could be saying about the downgradable plans. These plans unavailable here for sure(till 2months before, if they have changed that then I'm expecting a ton load of advertisement on twitter). It's not even showing up in the systems of JTO
