This would be a dedicated thread for the experiences regarding the newly launched Airtel Xstream Fiber in Patna (LCO City), Bihar. Anyone using the same in Patna, please share your experiences like downtime ,speeds , service , pings, etc. It would be really appreciable.
Thanks.

My Plan Details:-
Got new connection on 25thSept2020 in Kankarbagh.
799/- 3 months plan (2828+1000).
Don't know why, but pings are ridiculously high here.

do a speedtest with ookla app, select airtel servers in a few indian cities and see pings. I want to know that, please share. Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata. Select Airtel servers in all these cities and see pings. Thanks

Finally.... Some decent connectivity . Hope it reaches other areas and other cities in Bihar too and that ping issue be temporary.

Yes, I've already complained to cc. They said it will be resolved within 24 hours. But without any resolution , they closed my request .

I had a Airtel broadband in Bangalore and Gurgaon and the experience was awesome. The connection hardly went down ever! Was eagerly waiting to have it in Patna. I too stay in Kankarbagh and have applied for it, 100mbps 3 months plan. Will update here once I get it.

I have tried a lot of different broadband providers in Patna and here is a short review for each of them:
  1. Railwire/Touchstone - Initially had their wireless connection. Speeds were less but reliable. Later migrated to their fiber. Fiber connection was expensive but now they have reduced their prices. Speeds are decent, ping is mostly ~10ms on Ookla(with Railtel servers as destination). Once or twice a month it will go down for sometime. Very occasionally, it goes down for 1-2 days max.

  2. FOX broadband - worst experience with any broadband provider ever! Their broadband was down for whopping ~40days during the March-April period and they did not agree to extend my connection validity to compensate. They are very arrogant and rude. Their connection kept going down once a week atleast. Installation charge was 3000 out of which their sales people promised that 1000 will be refundable but they did not refund anything to me. Please avoid.

  3. BSNL ADSL - decent and reliable but pings are terrible.

  4. Airnet - I have their wireless connection as a backup. Good and reliable connection. Pings are ~10ms on Ookla (with Bharti Airtel as the destination server). However, they too go down once or twice a month. Customer care is decent.

  5. Worldphone broadband/SITI - unreliable connection. Speed and ping was decent. But absolutely no customer support whatsoever.

Thanks for the in-depth review of The Other local providers. Really appreciated. Hope it would help others to choose among them. Also I would like to see your review about Airtel Xstream fiber once you get it installed. I applied Mine through app on 25th September. Got it booked, installed and activated on 27th September ; if that helps.

I have already applied several times through their website and app. Have been doing so every couple of weeks since last 3-5 months 😈. Got a call 4-5 days back from their sales person. Initially I doubted since airtel's website still says "invite us" for Patna and thought he might be a scammer. 🤣 After reading your post I got the confidence and hence called him back and asked to come. I think the sales person name is Sachin. So thank you for that.

I will definitely update here once I get it installed.

This airtel sales guy with number ending 3405 is quite unreliable it seems. I have been chasing him since morning to come and collect the docs. He keeps saying coming in 10mins and then keeps disconnecting my calls.

Not sure if I can go to the airtel shop and apply for a connection formally myself.

It's okay just give him some time. Tell him to visit your place within 2 days or else you'll go with some other provider because you're in urgent need of the same. Also if possible, before visiting ask him how much ping will the company provide. Tell him to provide better pings or else you will go with jio.
Also, if you'll go to the Airtel store, they will too tell you to apply online as I have already visited there.
