Can't do much about locked devices. My device is 2.5 Ghz too. I get 60mbps on speedtest.net app. Try changing the Wifi security settings and see if that helps.

@sloj are you using an onu and a router?

@SuperK can't you unplug the fiber cable and disable the remote management things on the ont if you know the password. It's LOID I think, maybe @sloj can confirm.

The GM just said that I can buy a 2 in 1 ONU and router from a branded company but it won't be compatible with their system. So, I have to use this local ONU and then I can add a branded AC router to get project higher wifi speeds. What do you all think? Should I do that?

How can you add a router if you can't put the onu into bridge? Maybe an AP. This is a Jio Fiber problem, we shouldn't have this with BSNL. 😕

I just searched for BSNL FTTH supported devices. Have a look

It comes down to if the service is EPON or GPON. Most locally available ones are XPON so it supports both. So it shouldn't matter unless they maintain a whitelist of devices on OLT or there is compatibility issue.
You can get a simple device with just a gigabit port but then what about phone service.
