Anyone knows what is the maximum period we can opt for the safe custody? Airtel is continuously calling me and telling to deactivate safe custody as maximum period is allowed 90 days.
But the link here, says, there is no limit if monthly 100rs safe custody option is chosen. Currently they charge 200(100 for broadband + 100 for fixed line) + taxes.

Thank you! Confirmed the same with Airtel support as well. ie., No timeline for safe custody... till customer deactivates, it will be in safe custody.

If installation is free, why dont we just surrender and reactivate if need be? why pay 250 bucks a month for more than 1-2 months?
I think Airtel is getting greedy here. No wonder they are losing out to Jio fiber. Jio fiber prepaid is best. Airtel charging Rs 200 (100 for broadband + 100 for fixed line) makes no sense since both broadband and fixed line come on the same cable.
This means if you put broadband into safe custody - fixed line goes into safe custody as well.
What if I just want to use fixed line instead of broadband? Is it possible? Safe custody should never be more than Rs 100 IMO.
So I activated safe custody and it took them 48 hours to activate it.
now that i want to deactivate it, the safe custody deactivation order is stuck in pending state for 72 hours and customer care is clueless as usual.
I cannot even use the internet 🙂
no wonder airtel’s backend is messed up. Either they hired bunch of freshers as their engineers who do not know anything or senior engineers do not want to work.
i made a mistake by activating safe custody. Once this issue will resolve i will never mess up on airtel app again.

I requested for static IP on 2nd Sept 2023 and the order is still pending in the airtel thanks app. Engineers were assigned but none of them bothered to call. Customer care says that they have already activated static IP on their end but it was never configured on CPE. They have assured me to remove any kind of charges if incurred due to this. net at airtel dot com, appellate, nodal office, none of them respond to emails.
I am on the airtel black plan and they promise priority resolution, this is what they offer.
I am not going to make any kind of special requests like static IP configuration in the future as well. I don't have the time and energy to speak with their CC now. If I see any charges for the static IP which was not even configured, I am going to make a ruckus then.
As long as the internet is working fine and I am billed correctly, I really don't care about anything else.

Well if that is the case then app should not have accepted the request for deactivation. Customer care is not telling the truth.
