My friend in Chennai is getting 500Mbps on lightning, just cause the plans aren't updated on website doesn't mean it's not updated.

I don't know about plan upgrades in pipeline by act chennai but they have the best latency in the business atleast in chennai.

Latency to Google.

Latency to singapore

Latency under 35 for singapore is beyond impressive.

Basically, TRAI is not doing its job properly. ISP's are blocking websites on their own. TRAI should also make sure that there is level playing field for small and big companies. Companies like Jio and Airtel can pump in money and can bear losses till they capture a signification portion of market share.
I'm happy they've maintained net neutrality till now but I have little to no hope from the new TRAI chief. His previous roles tell me enough.

This is one area where ACT is way better. Airtel is intercepting and blocking requests like crazy using DPI, the only way for me is to use a VPN.

Also I'm sure all of them snoop and collect data but I trust Airtel to better handle my snooped data than ACT.
I don't know what DPI actually demands but I know they read SNI. Firefox DoH w/ Cloudflare + ESNI + websites using Cloudflare can bypass this but we shouldn't have to take these measures. For ACT, any encrypted DNS protocol hides stuff from them and no added latency.

Underrated aspect. I had a Spectra FTTH that struggled with anything other than local streaming services. Their routing to Singapore or anywhere international was horrible.

I had ACT before in my apartment building and at every floor, they have this Alcatel ONT kind of device with 8/10 ports. The issue I used to face with it was the speeds would drop drastically in peak hour usage (which I assume this device to be the bottleneck even though everyone had their own port). Whereas in a full fibre setup, the passive splitter does not cause any disruptions.
Basically They are using Metro Ethernet FTTH technology in older cities but they are using GPON FTTH technology in newer launched cities of jaipur lucknow and ahmedabad as I also use Nokia GPON Ont in jaipur provided by them as same technology is used by airtel and jio in ftth roll out in india

@vignesh_venkatesan But that's negligible right ,since I didn't find noticeable latency when uploading something
You wouldn't find huge difference while doing stuff which doesn't care about latency i.e. file transfer.
Metro ethernet provides dedicated bandwidth between you and the local ISP node whereas GPON shares a 2.4 gigabit link with other customers.
