I did all that. Obviously if one knows about 2.4 Ghz and devices that work only on that mode as against 5 Ghz devices and has researched on top link speed capabilities of their devices would know about signal interruptions. Right adjacent to the router, the speed tops at 45 Mbps max be it on 2.4 or the 5Ghz bands. I even disabled one of the bands under the hope that the router might be distributing speeds between the two channels, but yet nothing! Same result.

better range than jio router for sure but not stable. It needs restart for better performance.

poorly designed, all ports are on the back and with 2 inch wide stand permanently attached to it so you can't hang it on the wall. How could a company like Nokia design something so impractical. even the adapter isn't nokia made. LCO guys didn't give LAN cable in the package

Airtel speeds isn't stable either and fiber lacks the performance it was given few weeks ago.

Is it really a nokia made?

I did get ~70mbps on a laptop and 30-40mbps on some cell phones on 2G. The mysterious thing here is why it gave 20mbps to D-Link router which strangely went down to 6-8mbps, and gives ~1mbps to my k3 note phone which gets full speed from D-Link router. I don't think I will get much help from Airtel in a technical matter like this, at least it will be a bother. Mailed Nokia, but they say they don't service OEM products. I did end up putting a wire which cost 300rs.

Okay, I don't have the Nokia ONT. I have a Huawei one, which had poor range but was a good modem. The range became extremely poor recently and it started throwing devices off the network, so I got my own router.

If you're getting good speeds over LAN, maybe you should contact Airtel and see if they can replace the modem. The ISP provided ONT + router combos are almost never good.

Which one to buy aftermarket?

I have a similar issue as the OP. Got the 300mbps connection and am only getting 150-180 mbps. Sometimes very rarely it goes up to 250mbps. This is all on 5ghz
On 2.4ghz the speed is pathetic at 2-5mbps and range is very poor.
I still have my netplus 100mbps connection running and thats a stable 100mbps all day on 5ghz and the 2.4 ghz has amazing range.
Can anyone suggest a way out? im ready to invest in a good router.

At least here who has tested both a Nokia router and a proper router? Or comment on its 2.4ghz speeds
When access the internet with Ethernet LAN port the speed is always as promised , but when its on WiFi definitely the speed reduces to 40-60 % due to various factors like, the distance, inteference, direction etc. mostly 5GH is faster but limited by the device laptop or mobile) should be in 10 meters range otherwise speed gets reduced more than 50%. with 2.4GH, speed is 40% lesser than 5GH attena, though the distace it permits more.

If your router is not broadcasting 2.4ghz signal at 40 Hz bandwidth (set to 20 mhz only, or auto) - clients may get max 144 mbps negotiation speed on it.
This may also happen if client wifi card is not 2x2 mimo (inbound & outbound stream) - eg phones & check laptop/desktop wifi cards.

Also more distance will cause a lesser negotiation speed.

And always remember if negotiation speed is 144, irl you will be getting less than that- due to packet errors, overheads & meta-data.

This is why you see on 30 mbps plan you are getting 24/25 mbps & on 150 mbps plan you are getting 120/130 (on Jio)
Now, some ISPs set a port speed more than your plan estimating that overhead & you get slightly more (like on Airtel)
