Hai there.
I am a new member here ( but have been a frequent reader of posts here especially related to BSNL broadband and fiber ). So finally after canvassing my neighbours and convincing BSNL officials, they have finally extended FTTH lines to my locality ( I live in a very rural place ) and i am steps away from finally getting FTTH connection. ( No, no LCOs in between ). I bought a TP-Link GPON router ( managed to 🙂 ) TP-Link-XN020-G3v-300Mbps-Wireless-Gigabit.
But due to some issues, BSNL technician is not able to pair that with their OLT and is asking me to get a Netlink GPON ( which seems very common thought its a chinese product wrapped in a new box by an indian firm with semi chinese firmware and yeah i know TPLINK is chinese too but atleast its better functionality wise). So what do you guys suggest me, should i insist BSNL to set my tplink somehow ( may take many more days ) or just return it and get a netlink one and get the connection today or tomorrow. I know basics of networking and i am planning to set it this router to bridge mode very soon ( I got an archer c6 already or dedicate a RBPI for this purpose ) but i dont want to do that right away. So my queries are.. is netlink reliable ?.
Does it support port forwarding ( if i am using it in router mode itself )
From other answers in the forum, i think it works well in bridge mode.
Welcome opinion from you guys.
