After Regalia/ AllMiles etc... they have moved my 2 family cards to moneyback card....
Since, we do not use much for shopping, just bills etc, sometimes AliExpress, Amazon.com...
I feel this is a good card.... both LTF.

Just a question: How much time does it take them to process an application? (A pre-approved)

Hey, has anyone had any experience with SBI credit cards? My dad had applied for one card on 4 September at the local branch. It is still showing 'processing' on the website and the call center executives say the same. He has no credit history (CIBIL/ Experian). But I guess that shouldn't be an issue as my Dad is a central govt employee and has all his banking relations with SBI and none else. His salary account with SBI seems to be the highest tier of salary accounts they provide (platinum or something). There has been no communication since from SBI except for once when a lady from the nearest SBI card head office branch (Durgapur) called him to verify the details on 6 September. The local branch doesn't process credit cards directly. Instead, they forward the applications to Durgapur. He is supposed to receive another verification call from the Gurgaon office, but that is nowhere to be seen!

SBI is quite slow compared to the rest of the companies. You'd surely get the approval, but as you can see already, delayed. Also, on the call they'd tell you all the terms again and take your father's verbal agreement on records.

I want to apply for a Hdfc credit card in particular as I have 5 to 6 other bank cards and most of the offers these days are from Hdfc. I don't have any account with hdfc. Where can I apply.
I've applied for a Hdfc card directly on their website. After giving my details, it showed that I'm eligible for some diners club card and millenia card. I selected millenia card and uploaded docs also. Finally it gave a reference number saying my application is approved in principle and will be subject to terms and conditions.

Need to see if it will approved ultimately or not.

This right?

Are you a customer of HDFC Bank?

@Nikhil Sharma I got the same email too. I'm not a Hdfc bank customer and I do not hold any savings bank account with hdfc.

I got a call today confirming if I had applied for hdfc card and enquired if I hold a Hdfc bank account. I said no. Need to see how this goes. BTW, my credit score is around 800.

HDFC used to offer some deals due to which even Regalia would become lifetime free. My father has regalia which has 0 annual fees.
I don't know of any Regalia holder who pays the annual fees, everyone claims they've converted it into LTF using the 3 month smartpay option.
Okay maybe I can give some info. I got various calls from the bank for pre approved credit cards, and from the hdfc portal also. I always told them to contact me once regelia is there for my account. About a month after my first salary got credit I got a call saying regelia is pre approved for lifetime free credit card. I applied for it online, since it was pre approvee, got virtual credit card details withing 1 hour of applying via e mail. Normal cc arrived within 3 days.

Also I was informed that regelia first is being decommissioned and people will recieve regelia as a replacement if they have a card.

Edit: Diners club was also available but it was only first year free. Even though the card is great I don't think I will like to pay the 10k fee/year since I won't be spending that much to get my next year free.

I have a scary query, because everything looks too good to be true!

So I got email from HDFC bank offering Lifetime free card. So just for checking terms and conditions I clicked on the link and checked what card is available and it was HDFC Regalia. (I had no clue about its benefits or limits)

And then I didnt do anything. And then within 5 minutes I got a call from some representative and he told me that its completely free. There is no commitment to spend XYZ amount per year. All I have to do it link two bills for smartpay.

For some reason - I trusted the guy and applied for the card. He asked me to enter some agent code which I did.

And then within an hour or two - I received virtual card via e-mail. To my surprise the limit on card was 3 lakhs and 12 airport lounge access for free. (This alerted me, because why would they give such high limit card for free for lifetime? I was like - there will definitely be some hidden charge somewhere)

Then next day - same guy called me again and asked me to login to netbanking and I linked two bills for smartpay. (again asked me to add some agent code)

Now he said - everything is done. I asked him 2-3 times that there should be no hidden charges and no yearly spending condition. He said not to worry and its free without any condition.

I checked their email - no where there is mention of Lifetime free and no where there is mention of Smartpay.

So anyone has any idea - if I have been fooled by representative or the offer is indeed true?

Where do I contact to get it actually in writing that - it is indeed a Lifetime free card. And also what are condition to keep it life time free?

What if I deactivate smartpay after 4 months? Is there any hidden condition of minimum spending to keep it free?

Thank you.

You've not been conned.

The card will become lifetime free if you fulfill these conditions:

Option 1 for First Year Free :
a : If you do retail transaction for an amount of Rs. 30,000.00 (within in 90 days from the card setup date)
b : If you register your credit card for any one of the below products within 90 days from the card set up date.
Fastag (or)
EasyEMI (or)
c : If you do 02 ( TWO ) transactions each month for 3 consecutive months

Option 2 for Life Time Free Card : which will be offered if you fulfull any one of the conditions within 90 days from the card set up date.

a. Smartpay one bill registration excluding Pre-paid mobile (or)
b. One Assist
c. If you do 04 ( FOUR ) transactions each month for 3 consecutive months - (Each transaction worth minimum INR 500)

We wish to clarify that Smart-Pay has to be in active status for 90 days so that the card status will be changed to life time free. Cancelling Smart-pay will result in levy of Membership fee on card.

@Samuel - wow thank you - where did you get the information from? I would also like to get such thing in writing from HDFC.

So option 2 a) is what applies to me but the representative told me that it should be two bills that I need to register for smartpay.

I hope I dont have to fulfill option 2 b) or 2 c) because I am not going to use card much.

Also is there any definition of transaction for 2c)? If I simply add 500Rs 4 times to Amazon wallet - is it acceptable?
