3m makes them i think. Any hardware store should have it.

I slipped on house stairs few years ago. Back never was the same again. Still couldn't get parents to uglify the stairs with these tapes. Crazy stuff.

Yup. These are mainly used in retail store types. Homes usually don't like them as they get dirty and look bad 🤦

I know but the staircase is at the back of the house. Also looks are secondary. As you said one fall is all what it needs for irreparable damage.
