Guitar Learning

I am planning to learn guitar. Always wanted to learn from my college days but was always too lazy to learn a new skill. I don't have any knowledge about musical instruments. I have zero knowledge about guitar.

Does anyone on this forum play guitar? Since all the classes are shutdown due to Covid restrictions, online learning is the only option left. Has anyone learnt to play guitar by referring to online sources like youtube or other website? How was your experience if you learnt this way? Can someone give some useful sources to learn?

P.S. - I don't know if this type of question can be posted here or not. Mods can delete it if topics other than tech are not allowed.

You can learn how to play guitar online, quite easily. First thing you should decide is if you want to learn:
Acoustic: steel string or nylon string (classical) guitar.
The biggest challenge would be to remember how the open strings sound, so that you don't have to use a tuner to tune the strings (which is what I would still do, but I've stopped playing guitar).

Start with the basics, learn how to position your hand and fingers, your finger tips will become sore initially, so stop playing when the pain is unbearable. Give a break for a few days until the pain goes away. And just don't stop practicing, even if it is for 20-30 minutes a day.

I want to learn acoustic guitar. I am confused which guitar to buy, which brand is good and also within my budget ₹6-7k. What things should I keep in my mind while I go to the shop?

Can you please tell me some good resources to learn online? As now every guy makes 3-4 lessons and then disappears from the scene.

You can get a branded guitar at a good price from Lajpat Rai music market (don't know if you live in Delhi). Get a Yamaha with built-in pickups and you're good to go even if you've to perform on stage.

I can guide you with the lessons if you want. Start following any beginners guide online, just start! I also have a guitar teacher's contact details who teach in Jor Bagh, Delhi.

Sorry, but I don't live in Delhi. I live in Odisha. Here mostly classes are closed so online is the only option left. Have found out 2-3 good youtube channels.

Can you tell me how are Hertz, Ibanez guitars?
