Nobody is here for charity of course, but when companies have long term vision, even users benefit. When they think of short term profit, we generally suffer. Jio expanded rapidly and took digital connectivity very very seriously. It’s not done yet, making a ₹4k phone so that it can get even more users. This kind of market creation in 4G and wired broadband gives customers access to better technology thanks to investment by big companies, and a big user base to companies which can recover costs by service charge. Pre Jio service providers were milking existing customers on existing technology without investing capital for the future. They left these gaps open for Jio in the first place.

Don't know about 5G but this is my speed nowadays

@Gaurav15 But there is a major concern I was thinking. there reason behind the increased ftth reach is mainly due to the overhead electric poles which is also why there is less ftth penetration in developed countries and more reliance on docsis and adsl techs. What will happen in the coming years if the electricity dept, decides to ditch all the overhead poles and goes underground. It actually started here in kerala. Then these lco and others isps have to redeploy the cables again right ? Which will cause a massive distuption to services and others factors
Your concern is somewhat misplaced. These shifts don't happen overnight. In my area, Jio used electric poles for fiber deployment. Now the electricity department has started deploying underground cables on the main road. Jio and other ISPs have already started laying underground cables. But, the existing poles and cables will be there until electricity dept. completes its job. ISPs have enough time to shift. Also, they only have to shift the cable underground on the main road and not in the by-lanes.

I got 0.31mbps DL & 0.06mbps UL on jio 4G, I complained to jio on Twitter DM and all that happened is this "Your experience is very important to us. Kindly be apprised, on some occasions, the data speed may not meet your expectations due to combination of conditions like indoor/outdoor location, signal obstruction etc. We are working to deliver the best experience – D"
🥺😳🤬

I thought they would say, "Being festive season, please expect some degradation in our services."
With so many subscribers they need spectrum. Jio's tele density is way too high.

Jio has requested the govt for spectrum auction to be held asap. The auction is overdue now as it missed the schedule, didn't happen because of lockdown or bad financial condition of rivals

Recently my network of Jio 4G has been 1 bar or no bar at all. It used to be better than this.

I think 1-2Mbps is enough to attend online class. At least in my case, there's only the instructor who has his video on and screen presented.

The speed itself isn't the problem in my case atleast. Latency is very jittery with some ocassional packet loss which is terrible for voice calls.

I had to attend class using 4G when inverter went out and the voice was very stuttery (on teams).

Jio planning wifi hotspots on existing towers
