Jio didn't disappoint. It is as reliance as reliance gets.

I have had calls from 'lawyer from supreme court' for modem refund from RCom, Hathway. And box removal from ACT but I can't remember how far it went but recall that they just didn't want to remove box I think I did get those sort of calls at least for money. Thats one reason I don't want to get Hathway or ACT at all again
Believe me, non of them were lawyers or even close to such people. Just some odd recovery guy doing their work

For my secound connection
on Aug 17th at 11Am they came to take proofs and i transfered amount on spot.

By 2:30Pm they came and installed and at spot it activated.

Within less than 4 hours wiring, installing and connection activated.

Coming to yours it's executive problem. Complaint it to jio care. with that guys name and phone number.

Refunds will take more time. 15to30 days when active connection is disconected. Iam expecting less time for you bcz you didn't got connection.

** main thing we have to look before applying is weather main wiring is done in your area or not. And area is live to give connections.
It's not possible to give connection within two days, if there is no main line is present or your area is not active.

These are not isolated incidents... Go, read on the web, how late Jio is taking to give refunds to customers who cancel their accounts (Obviously for this - you cannot blame the sales persons, right?)
It will be very naive to blame sales persons for this... The sales persons are asked by the management to do this...
What is tragic is, Jio is just starting and when a company does these things in the first few years of its starting operations - you know what you can expect down the line......
If Jio can get away with the institute of eminence tab, even before the institute was built - they can get away with anything...
And, we innocent customers, will be blaming the sales persons - who act like this at the behest of the Management.....
So are you implying that management has asked the sales team to go and get everyone on board, even if there's no feasibility to provide the internet? I doubt if that could be true.

Their refund process is automated, as explained by members in this post How to disconnect Reliance Jio Fiber connection and get a refund?

The problem here is that @codwapeace is not even a customer, so fitting in their refund process will be a bit of a hassle but I am sure repeated escalations will help.

Well I have recieved a refund, took them a week or so. Earlier I applied for JioFiber, paid money. It took them a few days to install, in the meantime I was reading reviews. Came to know about upload speed cap, called CC and cancelled my connection request, got the refund in a week.

Sure, it was not a hassle when they took my money and more than that my documents and wasted 3-4 hours of my time. You think it is reasonable to do "repeated" escalations for no fault of mine and multiple levels of faults from them and repeated lying.

I have Taj Mahal to sell to you. Are you interested in putting down a deposit? I will give you possession tomorrow. Only Rs. 2,500 deposit.
Interested?

I am sure "repeated escalations" will help you.

JioFiber customer support is pathetic, I've heard many incidents. In my case, the router isn't connecting to 2.4GHz, I called customer support on 11th, today is 15th. Nothing has happened. They did they'll replace the router, but nothing. No one picks calls. The local guy who called me isn't picking up for 3 days. Thankfully I'm in this free trial period, if they don't do something in next couple of days I'm asking for my ₹2500 back.

They want to show healthy pipeline of orders to top bosses. ..so they will place orders in system.
I had placed order with Airtel, guy called me and said area is not feasible but it will be in 2-3 days meanwhile we can place the order...
I politely asked him that call me back 1s area is feasible, already 15 days and I havent heard back
(i knew that their wire is like 2 KM from my place and it wont be connected so soon)

I hope it may help other readers the way I deal with installations, mainly internet connections. I go on a short walk around my neighborhood looking for boxes that ISPs install on poles. I also look at the fiber to find info related to the ISP. They have the company name on the fiber at regular intervals. I then call the local sales guy and always try not to approach them via their website. I confirm availability of a box near my house, ask them to show me from where they plan to pull the wire from. After confirming I inform them that I will only pay on the company portal in case of established players. Incase it is a local guy, I tell them that I will only pay after the connection is up and running. In all 10 out of 10 times, the local guys oblige as they don't have a standard procedure and can be flexible. Also, account activation is instantaneous. For others like Airtel, Hathway, etc., I can pursue them given that I have a payment acknowledgment. For everyone who know how to put their bitter experience online on forums, discussion boards, social media or even raise a complaint on PG Portal should research about the availability before hand. Refunds with Jio or Airtel will be processed for sure as they only accept online payments. I am seeing this increased trend of filing complaints on PG Portal for petty issues. Sorry thread starter! This is not directed at you but to raise awareness that there is a proper escalation matrix for everything. Be patient especially when it comes to internet installations.

Just to add, whenever you are dealing with big ISP, make sure you pay by cheque for new connections. The cheque encashment will take couple of days. If you do not receive your connection, you can block the cheque thru bank . Also do not buy multi-month packages unless you are pretty sure they have a decent service and availability in your area.

Simply put, would the sales team do anything against the wishes of the Management? It also comes down to what ethics, principles, systems run within the company. With respect to Jio - it is zero.

Let us analyze this situation for a minute - Here you have failure at multiple levels - at the booking level, the guy who raised the installation order, the billing person, etc, etc... At all levels, there was incompetence to say the least....
How difficult it is to display a interactive map which shows which areas/towns/cities have Jio? This would go a long way in helping future customers know if they have jio in the area....
As regards, your claim that their refund process is automated - why are there complaints from number of customers that they have not received refunds even after 90 days or 6 months? What kind of automated system is this?
The only automated system I see here, is to delay refunds as much as possible....

The rumor going around in the industry is that Jio introduced this 30 day trial offer, so they can get as many customers on their rolls as possible - this will give them a better bargaining power for other acquisitions/ investments....

I shudder to think, what kind of graduates, the Jio institute of eminence is going to produce with this kind of incompetence which they have displayed so far......

No they don't receive directions from the management as processing refunds is a headache for them too. Duping customers is a common practice for the sales guys in India. It is not just in the case of ISPs. The whole sales industry is run on an incentive system and sales guys everywhere do the same thing. It is our responsibility to be cautious. Trust no one and doubt everyone by default. It is only after a well informed conversation should you trust anyone.

You know what, most of us those who know Reliance from the early CDMA days, already know what type of company they are. They are that child kidnapper who offer you the sweetest candy to entrap you.
I was a happy customer of RCDMA for 13 years till Mukesh forced Anil to pull the plug and covert everything to LTE. In 2003, RCom actually offered more to the customers and suffered losses also. The lessons learnt by Mukesh Ambani in that venture is now reflected in the policies of Jio.

You are just dialling the wrong guy, you should have kept the number of the installation guy and local area manager (maybe you can ask the salesperson for the number of area manager), if nothing goes your way then there is pgportal at your disposal, they'll come like a firecracker is up their ass, having said that try resetting the router - I will also suggest you to go with a router like TP-Link Archer C6 and have it connected via LAN , who wants jio executives reciting your devices and all other information like a parrot when you call them? 😂
