I had applied for a connection on 2/9/20 for Jio Fiber with a promise of connection on 3/9/20. After multiple contacts, nothing was done. I complained on PGPortal and this is the audacity of their response.
"This is with reference to the DOT complaint DOTEL/E/2020/*****. We have investigated and found that the location is not feasible currently for installation of JioFiber. Our team has informed the same to the customer. For the refund he can raise the cancellation from his end to process refund. As per the communication with our team, customer has mentioned that he will raise the disconnection. Once the disconnection is raised the refund will be done in 15 working days."
Are you kidding me? You took my money. Promised me a connection. Can't provide one. Now don't even have the decency to refund me on your own.

Reliance cheated me in 2003 with their phone and they continue to do so in 2020 with their fiber. They are just a nasty company.
 
who the hell taken money. In their server your place need be live to give connection.
They have to activate in their server to give connection.
jio executives are stupid. To gain customer count they are doing like this.
At first time they done like this. after complaning to higher officeals the cleared.
 
you must be having the phone number and other details of the person who took money. call him and tell him that you are going to file an FIR against him for fraud if he does not refund your money immediately.
if customer raises disconnection request then disconnection is as per customer request and not due to fault of the agent. ask the agent to raise disconnection request from the company side for their failure to provide service.
 
@codwapeace For me too, they pulled off the same show, I had to put complaint on national consumer helpline , just the next day I got a call from their nodal office and within next 24 hours they did the optical terminal box installation outside my house and I was the first guy to to get the connection from that box, everything was done exactly within 48 hours from raising the complaint
 
How low can Jio get? And they call themselves, 5g company with 5g standards....
If it was not for political support, they would be nowhere...
So now, you have to run around to get your refund back.... I thought these things happened in India decades ago,....

There is a lesson to be learned here - Never pay in advance. Pay on the day of installation (When they come for installation).
In my case, I paid them after they laid the wires, and opened the new router and stb boxes....

Also check your street and neighbor places, to see if they have laid wires. and if they have connection. A little homework from our side helps to avoid such situations....

Also take a copy of id of salespersons... You have every right to ask for it.....

Hope you get your money back from these scoundrels.....

BTW, I liked your post not because you were swindled by Jio, but because you took the time to post this experience which would help others going for a new connection....
 
They are just trying to boost their numbers and meet targets. How can a user request disconnection when there was no connection in the first place? I think they are just trying to avoid such incident being registered in their system or against the agent (not sure if there is even such a system in place)
Try to push for failure to provide connection/non feasible area as reason rather than 'disconnection' requested by customer.

So I was interested in Airtel FTTH before Jio announced new plans. Registered on the website and got the call. He tells me to pay for 6 months advance. I asked him how long will it take for installation, he said 2-3 days. I said I’ll pay if I see some wiring work, a DP box or something. He said they will install the DP box next day. I said I’ll pay after that. I called him after 2 days, he said it will take 15-20 days as they have to get a new OLT from airtel store.
 
My neighbor applied for a new jio connection yesterday and today the cabling was done. Soon after , engineers came and installed the CPE and the connection is live now. So it took just 2 days to get the connection activated (including the day of application).

My point is, you cannot generalize that the company is bad. Agreed this was the mistake of the sales guy and his manager should intervene and fast forward your refund. But blaming the company as a whole is not right. Now I am not a Jio bhakt but by and large have been happy with their services.

I have had calls from 'lawyer from supreme court' for modem refund from RCom, Hathway. And box removal from ACT but I can't remember how far it went but recall that they just didn't want to remove box I think I did get those sort of calls at least for money. Thats one reason I don't want to get Hathway or ACT at all again

You are right, I should blame myself for dealing with these crooks. "Mistakes are mistakes if committed unintentionally." I am not so sure about that here as they are asking me to place the cancellation request. So, it is quite clear what is going on here.

These are not isolated incidents... Go, read on the web, how late Jio is taking to give refunds to customers who cancel their accounts (Obviously for this - you cannot blame the sales persons, right?)
It will be very naive to blame sales persons for this... The sales persons are asked by the management to do this...
What is tragic is, Jio is just starting and when a company does these things in the first few years of its starting operations - you know what you can expect down the line......
If Jio can get away with the institute of eminence tab, even before the institute was built - they can get away with anything...
And, we innocent customers, will be blaming the sales persons - who act like this at the behest of the Management.....
