I hope BSNL does the same if customers start asking for disconnection , but alas its a govt body

ACT seems to be offering unlimited data for those who are asking for disconnection.
1. Did you try the same or got the info from someone else.
2. Are they offering 3300 GB?
3. Do they also upgrade speed if we ask?

One of my friends did. Data usage is not being counted apparently, although the previous quota limit still shows on the portal.
Do they also upgrade speed if we ask?
Doubtful. I think they're planning to change their plans from October so this could be just a stopgap arrangement from the retention team.

@Jay Yes, I think they do have this option to stop counting data usage as we saw during the free 300 Mbps upgrade offer in lieu of WFH benefit.
Anyways, like most of us, I am going to patiently wait till October for any betterment. I just hope they don't follow this bullshit of not upgrading the users on 6 or 12 month plans.

I will wait until my next billing that's in October if they didn't change existing plans to unlimited with affordable prices or we dont have any news about it then I'm gonna shift to Jio fiber... Act please bring unlimited plans by the end of this month with affordable prices. I can't again go through installation process I'm lazy af..

After 10 long years with ACT, switched to Airtel FTTH purely out of spite. ACT support (the whole bunch up to the appellate level) is incompetent on a whole new level that they couldn't rectify a simple payment issue which has been pending for two months.

@Jay I was facing a similar issue. Their CC indeed seems very incompetent even after sharing all the details they couldn't fix it in 3 days, I just got fed up and mailed the nodal officer and appellate authority and voila the issue was resolved within 2 hours with a callback for confirmation. I don't know in such a competitive environment, how can they afford this behaviour.
Btw what was your issue? I did payment but it was not reflecting.

I had made a payment that went through in the portal a few months back. They couldn't locate the payment, so got the transaction number from the bank and gave it to them. Every time they close the ticket with conflicting reports and no call back. When I follow through, either they say it has been reversed or that it has already been credited to the account, neither of which is true. Raised it till the appellate level, who responded "as per the records, your billing issue is resolved". It is merely an issue of comprehension from their side, they can't even understand what to look for even after explaining it in the most detailed way possible. Frustrating.

The whole Airtel experience was so smooth and quick!

~ 11:00 am - Robocall from ACT pestering for payment.
11:05 am - Called Airtel for new fiber connection
11:10 am - Sent ID proof and photo over whatsapp
~ 11:30 am - application processed after making payment using a link sent over sms

~ 12:30 pm - came for installation and activated the connection
1:00 pm - Gigabit speeds in all its glory.

They are not going to make them unlimited. Sometime ago in April or May, all the users received an email from the CEO explaining why FUP is important for sustainability and how they don't have any plans to provide unlimited data.

Yeah that's gonna change now ... They will bring unlimited plans at some point in this year maybe by the end of this month. They already know if they want to sustain in this broadband competition they have to bring unlimited plans with affordable prices and I think they will..

I paid ACT Fibernet for 12 month plan in August. Is it possible to get refund for remaining days. So that i can switch to jio or airtel ?

@kraj105 Getting refund after paying for long term plans is not an easy task (as far as I have heard). If you are happy with the service (downtime and speeds), you can apply for disconnection to get a good deal from them.
