I had paid 3 months advance for the 999 plan (200Mbps) for Xstream fiber. 2 days later, the technician came and installed V-Fiber.
After asking, he said that Xstream fiber lines have not been installed in my area yet. Then after arguing with the sales rep, got to know that he himself didn't know that fiber lines are not present in my area.
He started convincing that the 40Mbps V-Fiber is better than my current 150Mbps from Hathway and that I should wait till Xstream fiber comes. I refuse and he asks me to send an email to 121 saying that I want to cancel my connection. I did the same and requested full refund of the total amount (3.5K).
After not receiving any mail replies from 121, I call 121 and explain it again. CC guy says that he will raise a request for cancellation and that the full amount will not be refunded since I have had the connection for 2 days even though I have not used a single byte from Airtel and have switched off their modem.
Another CC guy calls later and says that no amount will be refunded and that he will just close the connection and says it is "company policy"
So far I have not received any SMS regarding cancellation from Airtel. I am not sure what to do now.
On enquiring, the local technician says that fiber will be available in a month since nearby area has already received fiber lines. Should I wait and simply waste the rental amount that I have paid?
Any suggestion from you guys?
