I was planning to replace the white Jio cable with directly yellow one i came to know it is more better since it is flexible but expensive then white one that is why jio dont use whole cable as yellow one! But as i looked into i came to know this yellow cable are called SC to SC patch Cord and are in single mode(since yellow colored) but again now question is in single mode also there are 2 types one is Simplex mode other is Duplex mode(it is not multi mode since they are orange color). So which one should i order if want to replace white wire on my own which one should i go with single mode with simplex or duplex? Any help is appreciated!

Fiber cable coming from outside to inside which goes in white box. I need to replace it with same type yellow cable which comes form white box to router.

for my case the patch cord coming from the white connector box to the router is yellow only.and the patch cord going out from the white box to the mother box that is located in the pole in streets is black.

I have no patch cord installed and the fiber directly coming in from outside goes into the ONT,i wonder if it does make any difference.I dont have it because it was damaged out of the box and installation guys said that it doesn’t make any difference and they will install it in couple of days.

I have the same setup. I wanted to know this too. Does it make a difference?

Patch cord doesn’t make any difference, unless it’s defective. See the Rx power, but the problem is Jio router doesn’t show it.

@MadAxe Well to my knowledge it doesn’t make any difference as i am getting 143 mbps up and down, the patch cord is just a kind of extension and i think its just used to keep the fiber coming from outside safe from any breakage as it can break easily if it get some pressure or if the router falls down as it has manual connector whereas patch cord has machine connected connectors which are much more secure and cannot break easily in case of a router fall

@crymetyme lower than -25dBm should be good. My BSNL internet used to work even at -30. Currently BSNL line has -19.5dBm, I can’t see this is Jio ONT.

PS: by lower I mean magnitude. Actual value will be higher since all these are in negative
