I just now contacted them on twitter and via email to request plan change from 799 to 499 for my aunt's account - mentioning her registered mobile number and asked them to call her to confirm and verify the change. lets see if they do it or not. else i will have to visit her place (same town) and install airtel app just to do this
You just need otp from registered number to configure her account on your own phone. I changed fufaji's plan from my phone. Another uncle's connection is sort of stuck because the app is not showing plan change option. Got it changed through customer care just like you. Told them to call him for confirmation. Which they did. But plan is still stuck on Airtel app so hard to say if they have changed it or not.
Based on my suggestion to a relative - asking them to replace frequently not working for days BSNL connection - with either Jio or Airtel lower plans, they decided to apply for Airtel - I got an update later, but the person who visited said why not go for Fiber as its good but only higher plans are there. They said they are looking for only 499 plan & he said you will get VDSL with a minimum of 16 mbps plan, max of 40 mbps. They still went ahead and BSNL has been a no-show for a while.
Not sure if they dont have fiber at 499 or they are simply trying to push higher plans
Ok. Not sure if I should open a new thread - Got a call today, stating that my connection is getting a free upgrade to Airtel Fiber & the technician will be calling in a short while & replacing the modem for "free". No one actually called up later.
Thinking if I need to be watchful of something here.
P.S. I too have the same 499 plan currently what my relative got and was told no Fiber plan at 499.
