Jio Fiber Free Trial -> Combo Plan (199) -> Bronze Plan
Hi. I was curious to know if anyone has recharged the new Bronze 30Mbps plan. New customers will be on the trial 150Mbps plan. So new Bronze Plan 30Mbps will only be with those who have recently recharged it, after their old plan expired.

If any such users are there, how is your experience with regards to symmetric upload/download at 30Mbps? How is the streaming? Does 4K Netflix/YouTube stream with ease or is there a lot of buffering? Do video calls seem improved/degraded? A short review of the Bronze plan will be helpful for people deciding whether or not to get it, or to go for the higher Silver 100Mbps plan.

I made a QoS restriction on my existing 100mbps to 30mbps to check, and 1x 4K stream takes between 25-30 mbps, and works great.

@bhojv74 That seems helpful. So, you did not notice any perceivable difference between 30Mbps and 100Mbps as far as streaming 4K in Netflix and Amazon Prime was concerned?

Also, what about video calls? This will probably be able to be answered by someone who's on symmetric 30Mbps up & down. My assumption is that the opposite person may get better video quality due to the higher upload speed.

Even on 100mbs, I checked on my router, when I start playing the 4k video the burst traffic goes upto 90 mbps, then settles between 25-30 mpbs in few seconds. With 30 mpbs restricted I thought the video will take more time to start playing, but I guess it was very minimal to even get noticed.

Yes, depends on bitrate. On PC and newer phones, Youtube delivers VP9 coded video which is usually half the size of H264 for the same quality and resolution.

there's a youtube video showing 4k on tv and 4k on tv+laptop. 2 4k stream is laggy but 1 4k and 2 1080p is fine.
Netflix streams 4k at 15.6Mbps but on YouTube under stats for ners I have seen connections rate of 50 to 60Mbps. Having said that last year I had Airtel Vfiber with 40Mbps and I never faced any issues or buffering on 4k.

Connection rate doesn’t equal to actual bitrate of the file on YouTube lol.

I think this video will be helpful for people researching on this topic.

The reviewer explains that one 4K stream works along with two 1080p streams simultaneously. However, two simultaneous 4K streams stutter. These are 4K YouTube streams though. Not sure if Netflix 4K behaves the same way, especially if the stream includes Dolby Vision metadata.
