I agree! All I have out of the software he has mentioned is the Spybot and Ad-Aware! (most websites also say these two are enough!) Also now that Spybot comes with a Resident protection, i don think half the software you have mentioned, like wrt hijacking browsers etc, are necessary at all! Spamfighter, ok! And Firewall, only one is necessary! But all i run is the Windows firewall! I'm satisfied with it! (My ISP itself has many firwalls)! But for most ppl i suggest one firewall! But they are too Intrusive!

and you forget these
how is it possible 😀

Azureus >> azureus.com

I like this one too

Bitcomet >> bitcomet.com

Well, azureus, bitcomet are P2P not essential to stay alive in `broadband'! Flashget and Flashfxp are commercial software (not freeware).. hence!

if you have noted, i had put the softwares by category.. where there were more than one software for a single category, i have grouped them under a single heading.. you just select the one you like 😉

Oh if you'r definition of living on broadband is firewalls only

then the best firewall is hardware firewall
and its built right in the modem which bsnl has provided
once you set the firewall right iin the modem
no software firewall can match it ...

What about spy wares?

I am just waiting for MS next OS version which has got AV / FW / Anti syware built into it. When it comes to firewall i am sure for a careful user what is provided with Win2003 is good enough!

Yah spyware .. if we click on lots of advs to get free cursors..but they slow down your system a lot ..
