Mine is off by default yet seems to make no difference

@Xposed mine was on the previous jio router i had was broadcasting hidden ssid on 5ghz network but not on 2.4ghz network and then this june i had an issue in which they replaced the router and in that it started broadcasting two hidden ssids both in 2.4 and 5ghz as @justageeek suggested i followed the steps as its been more over 30 min and no hidden ssids broadcasting now

Happy to help!

@Xposed just try turning it on and off again.

@SVK just press and or press & hold the reset button for 30 secs
The password will get reset, and you will need to set a new then.

Jio probably doesn't use PPPoE, but uses DHCP and validates using serial number of router. At least that was what I saw wheh i went through search :- "wan " selected something wan ipv4 settings, where you can put your own dns server like to use opendns, and there it was not using pppoe.

Now i am still at my relative's home, I want to see about anyway to block
TR-069 / CWMP / ACS

Update :- I am trying this from Github
Similar way of editing config file in Airtel Router did work.

I just realized that I had changed password.
After login with my password, I saw Mesh Configuration was already disabled.

another thing after disabling mesh network i logged back in to check on the option and saw this message in red font

Turn ON Mesh Configuration only in case you are installing Jio Extender devices In case you do not have a Jio Extender, do not change any settings.

that means those hidden ssids were for mesh devices and iot devices and in most f the cases the mesh network was enabled by default
