Just saw new plans of jio and they blow bsnl ftth plans out of the water.Jio provides ott and many more free things while bsnl only offering data and calls.
Do you think bsnl will release new plans?

BSNL must catch up if they want to stay with competiton. Its a tier 1 isp and bsnl is available in most areas than jio . It would give them an extra advantage and try to hold their market share before jio starts penetrating into new areas possibly rural ones. Also if BSNL starts providing new plans many local isps follow their lead.

I posted this in another thread but I feel bsnl ftth will be relegated to niche locations where other options are not available like where I live 😪 and they won't bother too much to compete.

There are news reports that are few years old saying bsnl is upgrading their backbone for multi gigabit speeds so it may take some more time.

First hope is for kerala people where bsnl is launching iptv and rumored gigabit plans I believe.

Yeah in kerala they are dealing with load testing by giving uncapped ipv6 speeds as said by an sde also they are testing for gigabit speeds also. But i feel lco plays a major role in all the speeds and quality no matter its jio or bsnl

Jio has full automation around deployment, custom CPE devices, very strick SOPs whereas on BSNL there is nothing of that sort, each LCO deploys equipment, cabling etc as per his wish. There is no scope for manual error on Jio, you connect the device it auto provisions and is good to go. You could understand the diversity in case of BSNL, just by looking at the type of issues BSNL customers face with respect to configuration of their ONT, telephone etc.

So Jio can definitely succeed, whereas BSNL's last mile quality would heavily depend on the LCO.
