Hey awesome folks!
I have brought Genexis ONT modem since my LCO wasn't able to provide me one and I was waiting for a connection long time. Now my LCO has no idea how to configure this modem for Asianet. He has been supplying cheap china models and is proficient with it. He has set the ISP configuration and while connecting it, all other Asianet user's connection is lost. Can anyone share any guidance on why this is happening, any practical answers, or even sharing a screenshot of your configuration settings would be very helpful for further troubleshooting as I'm from a remote area inside Kasaragod and the only way I could reach put for technical help would be through internet most of the time. I am sharing a part of my configuration page here. Thanks in advance chettanmare 🙏🌴

@isp007 They asked me to get a modem that supports ONT. So after checking with friends from other cities who have the same ISP, brought this Genexis Earth 4222 model. It supports GPON/EPON but I think they are using GPON ONT. Not sure of IPoE or PPPoE but here is the screenshot of a working configuration sent by a friend who is from another district but on the same ISP.

Also one question. Does VLAN-ID matters? what does it actually do? Is it unique for each ISP provider or for a WLAN ?

Thanks in advance

@zeshhaan yeah these onts are xpon so they work on both EPON n GPON n they r c+ pon based not c++ like chinese oems.. the pwoer level to ur ont is -33dbm.. these ont will only work till -25dbm.. the connection settings option will be in wan tab (ipoe/static/dynamic/ppoe/dhcp etc and u need to confirm ur vlan from lco ask him to check ur vlan via teevra app n sahre u.. if u use diff vlan on user ftth config settings it will bind ur id in bng.. so check vlan n reconfig ur ont .. u can check if the issue is from ur side or bsnl side by bbtest ... but make sure to to get power level below -25dbm

@isp007 Gotcha! I contacted the technical team at Asianet a few days and they said the same(power issue).
They said there is an issue with this firmware and upgrading the firmware would solve the problem. I have now upgraded the firmware and waiting for LCO to connect to his device and test. Btw, this is Asianet, not BSNL

Called Genexis helpline. An engineer will call you back and update the firmware by you giving access to your PC. Unfortunately, Genexis doesn't provide firmware publicly.
