Bsnl FTTH setup help for Tp Link XN020-G3v

bsnl service person says GPON router not supported

@Sbandaly It's not standard across India, depends on the OLT deployed by BSNL or LCO in your area. It can be either GPON or EPON.

Can someone suggest EPON router for bsnl ftth.

@Sbandaly go for any XPON device, you don't have to worry for any EPON or GPON as it support both.

Also, some ONUs might not be compatible with some OLTs.

Hey.. I did the same.. Bought TP-Link device with high hopes as device provided at installation didn't have proper wireless stability (innotech), however it wasn't my fault that it didn't work..
I asked the local provider about network details, showed him the device specs page.. He said, it will surely work nothing else to check..

Now it doesn't work, reason.. Guess what.. The OLT is EPON and not GPON.. Such a pain man..

Moreover he blames the device saying, LOS is blinking red it's device fault..

Well I'm not sure if the LOS will blink or not when type is EPON and not GPON that the device expects..
Not sure should I raise this for RMA or not.. No way to check.. any help here.. the device is wasted but b4 selling it on OLX just wanna be sure it's working..

Now they provided me with OptiLink, and that works much better than Innotech crappy device..

The TP-Link device is GPON only, it will not work with an EPON OLT. Yes, it will show the LOS light cause as far as the ONT is considered it's not getting the right signal.

Thanks for the info.. So the device is proper, only it won't work coz of the OLT signal difference..

I bought the same router.. But my ISP don't know how to register my TP-Link GPON SN with OLT.. Can you plz give the contact number of your service provider.
