Need recommendation for SSD. My works involves writing 20gb data daily and reliability is kinda important.

I am thinking to get 240 gb ssd this will contain OS and other applications. For backup and extra storage I will use HDD.

Oh yes... Forgot to mention. If opting for Crucial go for MX series which gives 5 y warranty instead of BX series which gives 2/3 years warranty.
Mentioned this since reliability is stressed upon.
Also, Kingston gives 3y warranty, something worth knowing.

I have decided to get 2 drives one cheap for os and essential apps (for easy cloning ). And another 1 tb good SSD (samsung or crucial MX) for other storage.

Using a big drive for OS makes things difficult to keep clone backup of OS.

Few seconds delay won't really matter in real world usage anyway or atleast for my usecase.

Thanks everyone for suggestions. I will do a little mory research about SSD tech.
7200 rpm sata drive is enough for data storage. It will age well even for multiple rewrite cycles. Get a 2 TB WD 7200 rpm sata drive for data. 1 TB ssd is a overkill just for data

I would say proper backups is more important than reliability of drives itself.

hence my first post. if the data is important enough. a 10 year warranty is not going to save it in case of a drive failure. if you have fast unlimited internet, get a subscription of backblaze (or directly store on a local cloud drive folder like on onedrive).

I have a lot of stuff like raw video and audio which needs to be accessed at high speed for better performance.

@JB700 @Sushubh most important stuff have backup but due to my laziness over the years I have created multiple copies of same stuff and now it's all too messy.

Keeping os and other programs on a small drive makes backup nd cloning easy for quick deployment. Then for the rest of the stuff I can divide and priortise which will be the most important.

I am also looking into S3 deep glacier and backblaze b2 for long term storage of data I know I will most likely never need to access.

Why using Backblaze b2 is so hard lol everyone is recommending some sync tool - What I found for my use is cyberduck(cryptomator) and duplicati both program allows to upload using gui with encryption.

Backblaze unlimited is not for me as I don't want local copies of everything.

Google gsuite has "unlimited" cloud storage for 10 dollars a month I think. They say it's 1TB but its actually unlimited. Ofc you are api limited.

Maybe also consider Hetzner auctions, they provide a ton of storage for cheap.
