I got banned!
Ok. So in that case, I would be keen to know exactly why I was banned. My crime was to quote someone else's post and afterwards expressing doubts upon the warning that was issued for the same? I respect the rules and all that but obviously i never read them as evident from my activity at this place. I have been lurking this or that forum for nearly 20 years never once i got a warning for quoting someone's post and then a straight up ban for doubting the same.

Maybe update the rules to encourage using @mentions in the posts. That wouldn't come naturally to a lot of people, the way quotes does.
A bit too harsh to ban somebody for this. Moderators on other boards edit these type of posts on a regular basis alerting the member about the same. Since there are a lot of moderators on the board, I wonder why it's such a big deal.

Not surprising. I've been banned from one thread and issued 3 warnings for quoting somebody or not updating my location in settings.
Mods are on an ego trip here. Lol.
Anyway, make a new account if you wanna post, or just lurk if you wanna read. No point in discussing with mods. They will just point you to their "rules".

@alekhkhanna I'm here only since the Jio new plans release. Otherwise I think i haven't even visited this forum in like a year. Sometimes i send DM to some people that's the only reason i care. But thanks, you are right, no point in arguing, but still had to mention what's going on here.

It's just me. I like the forum to run in a certain way. I don't like excessive quoting. I prefer textual content to be pasted as text. Optimization of images if possible before uploads (Squoosh is just so simple to use). And I like people to fill in two fields in their profiles. None of them are private in nature. Even state name is fine if you don't want to mention your city. If you have problems with these basic things, it's better that you find another platform for internet discussions. There are many.
If you read the Readme link at the top... I go into details about everything. And all posts are in my name. If you have issues with keeping in mind these simple guidelines... It's best to just lurk here.

@Sushubh Count the number of "I"s in your post. Just because you like things a certain way, does not mean everybody has to like it. And yes, this is your platform, and you're free to enforce rules the way you deem fit, but forums are successful due to its members, not the other way round. I'm here because i find some of the discussions engaging.
Consider tagging/PMing when people make a mistake. Issuing warning points/banning for simple things like quoting a post is a gross misuse of mod power. Just because you've it does not mean you've to use it.

Since some folks here find the term warning extremely offensive... I have updated a few phrases to change it to suggestion. It might not be changed at all relevant places. Ignoring them would still result in temporary or permanent ban or removal of some features.
