So, I am testing a different ad platform which is going to take a while to settle down. People not using ad blockers might see excessive ads or strangely placed ads for a few days. Would be posting a notice about this change.

There is also a related issue going on. Sometimes pages refuse to load. Sometimes there is a SSL error. Hopefully this would resolve by itself because I really cannot pinpoint the source for it.

So how fucked up is forum's performance?

Nope. Probably would have to revert back to old ad system. New one has fucked up page load performance. There is constant lag on every click and sometimes page refuses to load for as long as 10 seconds. Plus the new ads are causing too much layout shifting which is very painful. Would send a mail to the ad company and see if this is fixable or not.

it's more noticeable on mobile. layout shift has been horrible. have clicked at wrong places so many times. and whenever i post a post, i have no idea if it would go through because it doesn't a lot of times.

Pretty fucked up for me.
Though the good thing is that people are assuming that their ISP or DEVICE has some problem and not IBF. Its a complement in itself 🙂

Its like Google is down, but people don't believe it and think that it's something at their end.

ad load is a different issue. it is supposed to test out multiple ad layouts for a few days before deciding which ones work best. so yeah, logged out mode for me is also messed up. the problem is delay on every click and shifting page layout. performance seems to be better on desktop but i have been loading through the forum on my phone through the day and it has not been pleasant.

they have made some changes at their end. performance is somewhat better for me on the desktop. but still quite annoying on the phone. layout shift is still a problem if ads are enabled. sent them a few videos of how it messes up browsing.
