Chances of it being abused are higher than being used efficiently.
 
Abuse is a harsh word. It's just too hard to use properly. Forum has 57000 tags. Majority of them probably entered by me. But most of them a just random stuff with just single thread associated with it.

Similar threads box is usually pretty darn accurate and search is also quite nice now so tags are not that useful.
 
Should we have a private space on the forum access to which is limited to only the ones who choose to join it: pay for it every year or so.

It would help the forum and members would get a chance to build a community also to share subscriptions and offer or receive services.

You can manually accept or reject applications.
 

If more than a few people show interest, I can do that. Though in the end, someone would decide that it is just better to create a private telegram group. Why pay for something when it can be done in a more convenient manner for free.
 
Well, quite a lot of people had shown interest to support the forum and this is one way we can do it. Here they're also getting some private space on the forum itself, and maybe you can also create a badging system (a badge would appear under the profiles of members who are supporters).

If I am not wrong, a member suggested something on this line. I am not able to access the older thread where the discussion was going on before you chose to get the subscription without our support.
 
that post had good suggestions. but it was more connected to me offering services like VPN, cloud storage or gaming servers and such. i take the responsibility of managing services and charging for it.

one time donation for adding some new feature as i asked few weeks ago is one thing. launching subscription plans without any real incentive is completely different.

And can't you offer those services under the membership?

IBF patrons can get access to cloud servers which can give them low latency pings for gaming when used as VPN( it is economically feasible as gaming communication uses less data).

Suggest what kind of new features can be added to this platform. Focus is on crowdfunded services for group usage like VPN or cloud storage.

Also just remembered that my Facebook account is probably finally deleted. Along with it, the Facebook group and community associated this forum are also dead I imagine. Facebook based login is still enabled through another mod's account.
