I've been using using Airtel 4G hotspot as my primary internet connection & it was continuously connected to power since last 6-8 months. Only recently did I realise that the battery has puffed up big time & probably on verge of explosion 😑😑

This model is Huawei E5573Cs-609. It's not under warranty anymore.

My question is, is there a way to bypass the need for battery so that situation just doesn't arises ? The workaround can be like probably powering it up from battery contact point or something similar ?

Came across few videos on youtube showing the process but that involves unlocking the modem, then running some command to edit the firmware to operate on just USB power just like many jio-fi devices, sadly the current software version may not be unlocked as per my research (Ver 21.333.64.01.284) and even if done the commands may not work on newer s/w version.

Please share any experience / ideas for this situation

If any poor soul is still using wi-fi hotspot for their internet access, I got the above mentioned thing done by a person who unlocks these modems. Just needed a few command lines in DC unlocker software post unlocking and the thing now works without a battery so can keep it running 24x7 without fearing any explosion 🙂

I need help to bypass my Airtel 4G hotspot

Hey guys, sorry been away for a while hence couldn't respond. Slightly older one's could have easily been flashed/downgraded in f/w by relatively easy procedure but the one I had, purchased in 2017 couldn't be. I got in touch with a person who did all this for me remotely on teamviewer by downloading his tools on my pc & flashing the dongle. I also got band selection menu unlocked on the modem and now I latch on to specific non-congested band. Been a smooth ride 🙂
