Is it feasible to get a FTTH connection from ~600 meters away?

Hi there, since it's my first post, kindly spare me.

On to my situation now, I've been told that there's no fiber line in my area, those vendors told me it's not feasible. But I've seen many fiber lines here and there (approx 300 meters away from my home), one broadband guy told me that there was a new connection, and he said they'd have to reach all the way here. The distance is approx 600 meters. Those guys told me no, and here this guy got his connection. I don't know what to do, I live in Agra. No other ISP is available in my area, Jio seem to have lay their cables.

Should I go with BSNL broadband if fiber is not available?

They will lay fiber if you are willing to pay the fiber costs. Negotiate with them. 600 metres or even 300 metres is a lot of distance to cover for a single connection.

Also, if you are a crazy uploader then Jio's upload speeds will make you go even more crazy and not in a good way.

Hi @crazyuploader , I'm guessing you tried its via an LCO. As @sloj mentioned above, they would lay the fiber, if it make them a profit. You could also ask around, your neighbours. With lockdown / WFH / online classes etc, your chances of finding people interested in FTTH are good. More people would surely make the LCO reconsider / reduce your intial installation cost substantially.

@PranjalT how's your experience till now? And I think I might get JioFiber in my area soon. Should I wait for it? Or fight and somehow get BSNL FTTH?
