Horrible Excitel fibre Installation experience.....

This is against my previous statement where I have said that “Excitel internet is as good as the LCO”………. Here the main culprit is Excitel.

They have poor Policies and give inadequate training to LCO about equipment & wiring. In my case LCO tried his best to serve. Only fault that I find in the LCO is that he starts late in the morning around 11.45AM.

The most irritating part in the whole thing was the Excitel Customer Care. They listen less and speak more. I told them that the ONU was with LCO, he still kept telling me to restart the device and try re-inserting the fibre in ONU. They are totally nonsense and disregard the issue of customer & keep advising their crammed answers.

After speaking to Excitel Customer care about the best promotional plan available, I headed straight to the LCO, rather than applying through online channel. Wanted to know, how far he is from my house, infrastructure etc… I reached there at 11.45AM…. He was not there, spoke to the staff and the Excitel executive sitting there…..
Did some speedtest on their demo connection, showed them how bad their speeds are on international servers……LCO arrived after 15minutes…… I asked for new connection…. they generated new id after giving photo+ id etc……asked him how much time it will take to install new connection…. He said fiber is already there on the pole 100mtrs from my house and it will take not more than 2 hours…….. I thought why not finish this first, so I postponed some of my work at my office by 2 hours……

But that that was a mistake……. He arrived with fibre and other equipment after an hour and did the wiring and then waited for the splicing machine. The splicing machine came after half an hour or so, but was not charged. It was put on charging but it never turned up and they kept moving back and forth to their office for some time. And when nothing was happening for around 1 hour, I spoke to LCO..... Then he tells me that there is a problem with splicing machine and they have to take it to service centre at Janakpuri(20+Kms), so they will finish the installation tomorrow morning….. it was 5PM by then, so I missed the work at my office.

I spoke to him next morning at 11.30AM, he said that the staff has left for service centre just now and installation will be in the evening…… In the meantime, my cousin, who lives nearby also wanted to move to fibre, so he also asked for the installation simultaneously. They came for installation in the evening, I paid for ONU security + plan in cash, after that they activated the plan etc. But on switching on the ONU for the first time, it took more than 15mins to show internet on the router……. I thought, might be due to first activation or something……. Anyway, it was already 7PM and they had to install ONU at my cousin’s home, so I let him go…. But after an accidental restart after 10 mins or so, it again took around 15mins to show internet…. I called the LCO, while he was installing at my cousins home, he said he will check on his way back, but he never turned up… on calling him up he said that there is some firmware update issue with the ONU and will do that tomorrow through Anydesk. Since the internet was working, I said it is ok. At my cousins home the first ONU box they installed did not work, so they changed it after trying for an hour or so.

Now in the morning at 9AM when the online classes were to begin, internet stopped working. I restarted ONU 2 times and waited 15mins each time but the internet did not turn-up… I called up the LCO at 9.30AM, he said he will send some one but not before 10.30AM……. When he did not turn up at 10.30AM, I called up the Excitel CC and explained the whole ordeal…….. He started as usual with “restart the ONU/ router”….. I told him that issue is with ONU….. he said that is not the case and registered a complaint and told me it will be sorted out in 24hours officially but he will make sure that it is sorted out very soon….. The LCO did not turn up by 12PM, I called him up again…. He came after half an hour…. Tried restarting ONU few times, when he failed, he took ONU with him to check at his office. He came back in the evening and said that there is no issue with ONU and he has been using it at his office continuously for few hours and there is fault with my router….. He brought a new router and tried to turn up internet…… it worked one time after 15mins and when rebooted ONU again it again took more than 15mins…. And did not turn up in subsequent boot of ONU. He called up CC and they asked to connect the ONU directly to my laptop and give access through Anydesk. There were 2 issues….. first the ONU supplied by Excitel to LCO was a new configuration (they were not told the configuration values), so sort of incompatible…. Secondly the Tx values were zero in the fibre. So he took the ONU again and told me that will fix it in the morning.

Next day he did not turn up till 11.45AM and he came after I made a call to him. But this time he created another mess. He went to my cousins house and took out the ONU from his connection, (without informing him, Cousin was not at home, he was at my house) while the children were attending their School online classes. LCO staff disrupted the class & installed a new ONU which worked for few minutes and then went dead. So now when he came to my house to install that ONU, my cousin was at the entrance of my house (he was informed by the children, how that internet was not working after the change of ONU)….. My cousin was furious with the LCO staff, how dare they remove the equipment without his permission and in his absence. It took some time to placate him and finally it was decided that the ONU that LCO brought will be installed at my home (as they had done some mac binding of router). This ONU now was working fine without any issue. After installing ONU, he went to my cousins home and did some troubleshooting to his ONU after which it worked for some time. In the evening my Cousin called up the LCO as ONU was not working. After an hour or so the LCO changed the ONU and thereafter it was stable.

yes, i do have it. I have no wifi modem from them.

One my friend had dual band one from excitel and he didnt had rest mac option. recently he switched to no wifi one modem and now mac reset option is available for him as well.
