So is raspberry pi a viable solution? @devangpatel The model you suggested for cameras is 2MP, do you have any suggestion in 4 or 5 MP?
Also, I do not need so many channels NVR, any suggestions for 4channel version? Does hikvision NVR allow ssh access? I want to configure offloading of footage to Google drive.
Someone suggested me WBox, anyone got any experience regarding that?
@mikrotik whats your requirement? I mean indoor/outdoor, area to be covered are some basic factors that need to be considered? for advanced factors like audio recording, focal lengths, Zoom capability, PTZ rotating, human tracking, vehicle tracking there are specific series of cameras available.
You may first define your requirement and then browse through this catalogue
Hikvision IP network cameras are designed to meet various requirements – from video security to video content analytics based on deep learning algorithms..

There are other good companies also like CP plus, dahua etc. but I prefer/suggest Hikvision because they have good variety for all types of requirements.
If you hate DIY then go with CP Plus/ Hikvision . Panasonic cameras should be strictly avoided as they have lots of bugs and get hacked.
I think you should run a NVR on a cheap PC setup . There are some amazing ISOs for CCTV monitoring . traditional NVR may not be that effective in uploading and stuff whereas a ISO can do any tweaking and is also capable of Gigabit speeds with a good NIC .
