NO MTU CHANGING OPTION IN HUAWEI EG8141A5 ONT

I am facing high ping,high packet loss and disconnections in my BSNL ftth connection since last few days...BSNL customer support asked me to change MTU to 1460 and dns to 61.1.1.1...I changed the dns in the modem. But only MRU option is available in internet section...MTU only available in ipv6 and voip sections of modem webpage...so can anyone please help me change the MTU value...screenshots enclosed.

Put the ont in bridge mode and use a separate wifi routerdial the pppoe connection ( the wifi functionality of this ont will be useless after that ) most routers have the option to define mtu in pppoe connections. Or if you are doing this just for gaming there is an option in windows to change the mtu of your pc on which you play.

Then I think you should ask the bsnl support only😝 how to change mtu on this particular model.

MTU and MRU are one and the same thing bro. Go ahead and change it.
MTU- Max Transmission Unit
MRU- Max Receive Unit
Best practice- download the working once before experimenting with anything in the ONT.

no problem if your router doesnt support. use these commanads for Ethernet and wifi connection..100% working

first of all know the subinterface name of your internet connections (lan and wifi)

netsh interface ipv4 show subinterface

*************************

To set the MTU size: (for Ethernet)
netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Local Area Connection" mtu=1460 store=persistent

for wifi
To set the MTU size:
netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Wireless Network Connection" mtu=1460 store=persistent

My ONT Alphion has both of those!

Also, did you tinker with WAN mode and see?
