Looking for Dolby Atmos/DTS X sound setup suggestions for my LG C8.
Soundbar seems a simpler and a much easier option, haven't looked at much full speaker set systems.
Currently have my eye on LG SL8YG soundbar.
(Amazon page seems to be straight up deleted, not even an out of stock message page, had it saved in my wishlist, it's just a blank entry now)

Anyone having soundbar or multiple speaker setups, please do post your experience.
Thanks!

Edit: Apologies to the mods for posting in the wrong section 😓

I don't have any system personally, but from what I know while these sound bars do a good job of emulating Atmos sound the best experiance will always be with multiple speaker setup with a dedicated Atmos reciever.
But then setting up everything will be a tough job and avoid going for wireless systems. I am also interested in what others suggest.

Many of these atmos soundbars do have upwards firing speakers for good atmos experience.
I don't know about atmos receivers. What are they? Is it required separately even if tv supports dolby atmos?

So recievers are basically amplifiers and audio processors. The way they work is this, you plug in a media device (Chromecast, android tv box, fire TV's stick, xbox, ps4 etc) to the reciever first and then a single hdmi out goes to your tv. The reciever handles all the audio processing (it has dedicated hardware for it) and the video is simply pass throughed to your tv.
After soundbars, reciever based audio systems are the next upgrade. Although they are pretty expensive and I would personally go with an all in one setup like soundbar or 5.1 home theater speakers.
I would suggest once the covid situation settles down you go and try different systems to see what suits you.

Thanks for the information!

But haven't the passthrough requirements been negated due to hdmi arc? So that tv can push the audio through hdmi to the sound system.
Unless you have multiple video sources and less hdmi ports, then the audio receiver makes sense. Multiple inputs at the receiver and just one video out to the tv and all audio centralised no matter what source.

I'll check the systems in person at croma or at brand store whenever the covid situation settles down.
