So my PC just died on me out of nowhere.

It booted up and showed me a blue screen with the message:

"Driver Power State Failure".

It's going to automatic repair and it won't do anything. It boots again and the circle goes on and on. Tried system restore once, didn't fix it. Trying another restore point now. Seems like, I'm screwed.

I opened the cabinet and plugged the SSD's cable to some other port, and just cleaned the cabinet. The disconnect sound has stopped.

I am really clueless about what exactly went kaput and should I be monitoring something to see what's wrong.

Don't be illusioned into trap by Read/Write speeds, do proper manufacturer given health check too.

+1 on WD.
Don't wanna scare anyone with drive count of drives I lost

Btw are you on win10 v1803/1809 ? Any new Hardware installation recently?

@JB700: Rabbit hole of RAID 😁🤣

Important fact for IBF USers: Always do bad sector check on newly brought HDDs, in case you find any,you have full right to return it.

I just added a USB Bluetooth receiver (TP-Link) to the PC recently, no other hardware changes whatsoever.

So, this is the build:

This is the health status (screenshot of the only parameter status of which seemed less than 100). Kingston's official tool.

@Realme I removed that lol Samuel wanted backups, raid doesn't work properly as backups :/

@Samuel I would suggest creating a mini storage server with something like a Raspberry Pi, you can sync data from your pc to there so even if your PC catches on fire you will be fine (unless ofc your house catches on fire in that case you got cloud storage).

I can do that, but I think I should mention here that my PC starts on its own. It has been happening for a long time. Also, I hibernate my system with a lot of programs open such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Chrome and Word. And recently my computer booting up on its own is happening quite frequently. Sometimes thrice in a couple of hours.

P.s It's not a reboot, I hibernate it, it wakes up on its own.

. And recently my computer booting up on its own is happening quite frequently.

Lemme take a guess if it's not hibernate then, it's a new win10 feature when pressing key automatically boots the computer, you have to disable it explicitly.I was surprised too .

I tried reproducing the same mentioned by @Realme. Switched off pc, tried to boot by pressing any key on keyboard. The pc didn't boot. Did I do something wrong or did I miss something?

You seem to share my bad experiences with Seagate.
I've lost more than 5 Seagate drives and not even a single WD drive.
I've even used Hitachi, samsung and Toshiba drives but Seagate is by far the worst when it comes to reliability.

@Realme @Lamborghini

You'll have to press the power button in order to wake it up from hibernation. PC wakes up when you move mouse or use the keyboard when it's in sleep mode.

And I just noticed that the disconnect sound started coming again briefly. I think there's some issue, it will manifest itself clearly in the coming days. I will have to keep everything backed up. Lol. And suggestion taken, I will get a WD backup drive.
