Hi,

I use Airtel prepaid connection. I used 399 plans before for 56 days but since lockdown started I decided to find some cheap plan which is good in comparison to 399 plan. I anyway have Airtel boardband at home. My prepaid plan was supposed to end on 12th May but somehow I felt I can recharge in advance so recharged on 3rd May only when I recharged for my mother. I changed plan to Rs. 379 which gave me total 6GB data but for 84 days. I thought 379 plan will be changed from 13th May but it started from 3rd May only. I tried many times to connect to call center but was no use.

Now again recharge date is coming. I want to know does advance recharge work for Airtel? I lost 10 days when I advance recharged but also changed plan last time.
Should I recharge only after validity expires?

Thanks.

airtel is definitely queuing up plans. but i usually recharge with 2-3 days remaining.

there was also this exception case when they pushed out validity plan around a year ago... any plan longer than 6 months started immediately or something.

but a 84 day plan should have been queued. this is the plan i usually take. best is to set a reminder for the last valid day and do it on that day.

Plan queuing works for daily unlimited packs in airtel with the combined Validity not exceeding 180 days.

Last time I moved from a 1.5Gb daily data plan to 6Gb, 84 days plan in advance, my Validity was overwritten. However, after raising this on twitter, they credited Rs 300 to my Talktime balance.

Their Twitter support is useless now. Just wait for the last day and recharge 🤦‍♂️

Can you also help to know rules about post validity expired prepaid connection? I mean just for my knowledge, if I do not recharge for a week, will I stop getting incoming calls, bank sms?

[Update] I got twitter reply. I am told that
Queuing up of plans is available on Per day data quota packs providing validity less than 730 days. If you recharge with any pack apart from the per day data quota packs, the existing benefits will be written off and the latest benefits will be activated from the day of recharge is done.

So I am left with no help. Anyways, will remember this airtel policy from my next recharge.

Errm. I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote this. But yeah daily quota versus fixed limits is what I meant

I always set a reminder to recharge on last day. Unlimited or limited, they have always overwritten my benefits with the latest validity from date of recharge. I am a bit sceptical about their queuing policy.
It worked fine on Jio though. Don't know their status now.
