I want to buy a Fully Automatic Washing Machine and a Dishwasher.
I have a family of 5. So would 8 Kg fully automatic front load washing machine be fine?
Front load or Top load?
I don't have much knowledge about these appliances. The machines should do most of the work and there should be minimum human effort.
Please provide your suggestions.
I don't have a budget but don't wanna overspend.
Would appreciate value for money model recommendations.

of course they sell them. and they have a purpose for some households where users might need to move the washing machine around regularly. but at least LG states in their manual to avoid using trolleys.

I don't think trolleys should be used. But if machine has to be moved a lot, then I guess trolley is better than dragging it every day. I personally don't use it. Neither the machine moves a lot, nor do I move it. So it's best to find a place with a permanent water inlet specifically for it and fix a place for the machine, so all this hassle can be avoided.

I'll only move it only once today for changing the source of water and then the machine would only be moved in case of water connection issues which is rare like once in 2 or 3 years.

here is a trick to get faster washing on cotton mode. press the turbowash button on the display panel. it would reduce the time for regular washes by around 30-40%. it only works on longer duration modes. would work on cotton and cotton+.
This didn't work. We need to push the turbowash button after starting the cotton wash right?

What all I did.

Switched to cotton mode.
Turned on Turbo.
Turned on additional rinse.
Temperature to cold.
Drying cycle to 400rpm.

This cycle runs for 47 minutes with moderate load for me. 56 on cotton+.

If you need a simpler solution. There is a 1 hour wash cycle mode on LG app that you can use instead of pressing all these buttons every single time 🤦‍♂️

If you increase temperature and RPM wouldn't time decrease? Why did you change other way around?

In summer I have no reason to use the water heater in the machine. Water is already at ~35C. 400rpm and 800rpm takes same time. 1200rpm adds a bunch of extra time to the wash cycle.

In winter I use 30C temperature setting and 800rpm. Haven't used 1200rpm in a while coz I would have to watch the machine for movement 💆‍♂️

It's annoying in winters because 1200rpm would squeeze out a bit more water from cloths 😝

my mom basically hates changing settings so she has started using delicate mode for low load and sports mode for moderate load. largely because of the problems of machine displacing itself at 1200rpm thingy. if LG had allowed modification of presets, it would have saved me and her a lot of trouble tbh. they have the tech and the interface. they just restrict what you can do with the machine using the app. super frustrating.

My mom did the same thing. Washed the clothes on Sports Wear mode after seeing that it would take 1:30 hours on Cotton. It took just half an hour. 😂

just pressing the turbowash button alone should help with cotton and cotton+ modes considering you do not have the 1200rpm mode problem. just try it out once and see if your mom can get used to selecting that mode for heavy loads.

if you check the manual iirc cotton modes are the only ones that support the weight rating for the machine (8GB for me, 9KG for you). Other modes are not designed to support more than 2-3KG of load.

basically this. for normal heavy load. turn on the machine rotate the dial anti-clockwise once. press turbowash button. press start. if you want to run it with warmer water, anti-clockwise two times to go to cotton+ mode. cotton washes at 40C. cotton+ washes at 60C iirc.

for towels use 90C or Steam option. do two towels at the same time. LG machine is very sensitive to uneven load.

No 1200 rpm problem. Machine didn't even move a cm on 1400 rpm.
My sole purpose of buying this machine was a quick and clean wash under an hour.
I'll play around with modes and see which suits me.

Nice 😀

Honestly, if you just want a simple fast solution for 1 hour wash, download the custom 1 hour wash program from the LG app. the only annoyance is that it is accessible from the bottom right option of the dial (at least on my machine) so you gotta rotate it that much every single time.

i am now tempted to do a cycle at 1200rpm (8KG doesn't have 1400rpm) and see if it has settled down magically or still shaking and dancing lol. would have to keep an eye on the machine through the cycle though. it has walls on both sides.

Won't increase more posts on this thread as it is seeming like a conversation between only you and me. Should I ping you here or on Telegram?
