I want to buy a Fully Automatic Washing Machine and a Dishwasher.
I have a family of 5. So would 8 Kg fully automatic front load washing machine be fine?
Front load or Top load?
I don't have much knowledge about these appliances. The machines should do most of the work and there should be minimum human effort.
Please provide your suggestions.
I don't have a budget but don't wanna overspend.
Would appreciate value for money model recommendations.

Don't over think. Save yourself a couple of thousands. You'll end up using the quickest wash in most cases. Lol
True. But don't wanna regret my purchase like I did with my LG refrigerator. It seemed a good product on paper. That's why asking reviews before buying.

Thanks a lot everyone for your help and recommendations. I took all your insights into account. Was supposed to buy the 8kg one but the 9kg LG FHT1409ZWS costed me less than it's 8kg variant. Lol. Don't know how. So went for it without thinking as the energy consumption and dimensions were nearly same.

This costed me 35k. Is selling on Chroma and Flipkart for 44k.
Installation: Bought it on 28th July. It took them 3 days to get my machine installed which I think isn't satisfactory when I was promised next day delivery and installation. Only after repeated calls and complaints the LG technician visited on the 3rd day. He was in a hurry and just explained the features and left hurriedly stating that he had more installations to do.
Initial impressions: Did 2 washes today.1st Intensive Care and 2nd Sportswear. The machine waa very quiet no vibrations at all though these were washes were at relatively low RPMs at 800 and 400 respectively.
Would do the Cotton Wash tomorrow but it would take an hour and half and don't have that much time.
There is no quick wash or express wash as in IFB but there is Super 14 which claims to wash clothes in 14 minutes.
Review: Would update this post gradually as i use the machine.

@Sushubh Have you used the Super 14 wash?
Is it the equivalent of Express Wash of IFB?
I don't think the clothes would get cleaned in 14 minutes?
How much time does the IFB Express Wash takes?

35K is a very good price for this model! I paid around the same for display piece for 8KG 😢

here is a trick to get faster washing on cotton mode. press the turbowash button on the display panel. it would reduce the time for regular washes by around 30-40%. it only works on longer duration modes. would work on cotton and cotton+.

i also personally like to use the extra wash option on the panel. it adds 3-4 minutes to washing cycle.

I asked him specifically not to give me the display piece. Also my machine has the latest manufacturing (21 July 2020). Even I was surprised at why are they selling the lastest top model at such a discounted price.

14 minute cycle is for a small load. manual states 2KG iirc. it works fine if you have 4-5 piece of clothings which are not very dirty. i use it regularly. to increase washing time, increase the temperature to 40C. it would add a few extra minutes.

also run a rinsing cycle on 1200rpm to see if that displaces the machine from it's position.

the machine also has a self cleaning option. LG suggests to use it after every 40 washing. machine would show TCL on display i think when you have gone past that many washes without running the tub cleaning option. if your area has hard water, use descaling powder in this mode every month. if water quality is fine, still do it once every 3 months and run tub cleaner once or twice a month with just plain water (you can probably add vinegar on these cycles i think).

the cotton cycle would let you run a 1200rpm cycle. to just run the drying thing... do not rotate the dial after turning on the machine. and press the button on the panel. that would let you run the drying cycle without washing.

there is no preprogrammed setting for just rinsing and drying. but LG has set it on the programmable option on the dial which should be on the bottom right side. you can change this setting to any of the downloadable programs available on the lg thinq app.

sadly, lg does not allow you to create your own program. you can just download the presets available from their servers.

The LG technician told me about the same. He asked me to do the tub cleaning option after every 30 washes even though I told him my area has soft water.
He still convinced my mother to buy 2 boxes of
descaling powder.😂
Though he wasn't pushing these additional purchases like filter and descaling powder but he just informed me unlike IFB which makes customers mandatory to buy them according to reviews on Flipkart.

descaling powder is useful. use it after 3 and 6 months. doesn't hurt to be honest. i did say the same about LG and ifb in my earlier post. ifb installation people are assholes. lg not so much. there are other uses of descaling powder. you can use it to clean your shower heads for example.

i actually end up using the tub cleaner every week because my area has mud in water. i have to clean the rubber lining at the door regularly because of this. i also use the waterscience washing machine filter on the inlet. not sure if that has helped.
