I recently thought of porting my Vodafone Postpaid to Jio. But when I searched for postpaid plans for Jio, only one plan for 199 was available with unlimited calls and 25 GB data per month.

Since, I am a heavy user I require at least 75 GB per month for 4G data which I am getting for Vodafone Red Postpaid 499 plan.

Airtel is also providing 499 plan with same benefits as Vodafone Red 499, but Airtel signals in my home location is poor, so I thought of porting to Jio which is offer descent speed in my area.

Does anyone know why Jio choose to market more for pre-paid then post-paid users?

I think jio is focused more on gaining maximum customers as soon as possible, for that prepaid option Is the best ,the whole process is much more faster with postpaid. If they attained the maximum customers they will start better postpaid plans having better QOS which is not possible now for them with their current spectrum holdings

Last time Mukesh Ambani launched mobile service back in 2003, he burnt a lot of money in RIM postpaid connections. People just did not pay after availing service. So this time, he wants all to pay first and then use. Jio actively dissuade people from postpaid.

@devangpatel your wish has been granted. Jio postpaid now offers a range of plans bundled with OTT subscription, free International roaming, in flight Wifi, data rollover and more !!!

@mate But I already ported to Airtel 😢.

I need to wait till November to complete my 90 days.

Jio tower just near my house also I get -70 dBm (Band 40) and SNR of 25-28 and speeds are pretty consistent through out the day.

But recently on my other Vodafone (Vi) sim speeds seem to be increased I mean better then Airtel. But still Jio is more consistent.

Vi like 50+ Mbps but sometime suddenly drops or shift to 3G.

I think I prefer driving a medium pace (consistent-Jio) car rather then fast un-stable car (Vi).

Following to see how this plays out.
