Ok. What if there was a glitch in Jio's system and your speed dropped to 100Mbps for a day? You noticed it and contacted CC. They took a complaint and it was fixed the next day. I bet you wouldn't be this upset although it would be the same 2 days of slower speed. This was at least done with good intentions to compensate for the loss of service due to the outage. So relax. By tomorrow you will be back at 250. In the interim, you will find that there is no real difference between 100 and 250. I bet there is no activity that you were not able to perform in these 2 days.

I believe there is a difference between having a glitch in the system (which no one can control) and intentionally giving a slower speed than what has been paid for. If there was no real difference between 100 and 250 Mbps, I would have opted for the 100 Mbps plan.
Jio is supposed to send a technician over to look at the reduced speeds today. If they can't help, i will have to wait for two days till I get my
original speeds back...

Exactly this. He is not understanding the real difference, he won't be able to distinguish the quality to speed he is getting unless he deliberately check for it. He just feels that he has been cheated. Moreover, no one here complaint regarding the same, it's only him who has encountered such problem. I can bet he has certainly activated the plan, may be by mistake but by himself only.

P.S. - Network was down for 6-12 hours that day, go after them and shout for the compensation then, the way you are looking for it.

I know you keep on saying that I may have activated the 2 day plan myself by mistake and also U dont believe they deliberately imposed this plan on me alone in the universe. There was no way for me to prove this since Jio account has no history of who activated what plan.

Well, here is a article on NDTV which states that this 2 day offer was also made active on another user unilaterally....

However that article also states:
The new free Jio Fiber Unlimited 2 days benefit pauses the use of your current billed plan for two days. It does not deduct any data consumed from your plan cap, and instead offers unlimited consumption till the validity of this new free plan lasts.

Unlike some Jio fans here I don't think you're lying or somehow mistakenly activated the plan without noticing, because even doing so should have paused your current plan instead of both running in parallel.

Knowing how haphazardly Jio functions (lots of people including me faced the outage too but are still to get this 2-day compensatory voucher), I'd rather give you the benefit of doubt and believe that the fault lies at their end. In case your current Gold plan isn't paused and gets over on the scheduled date (instead of +2 days), by all means complain to Jio and on pgportal and wherever else required to get what's due to you for the money paid. Cheating should not be tolerated and just glossed over with excuses like "Who will notice a speed drop?".

I agree. In fact, I would not have worried at all, if whatever free data they give is at the same speed to which I am subscribed to in the first place.
I was only bothered when they put me on that offer of 2 days unlimited data @ 100 Mbps when my original plan was for 250 Mbps. A reduction of more than 50 percent in speeds.. That to me was not acceptable.
Anyways, starting tomorrow, I should get back my original speeds....... Thank you all for chiming in.....

I am on a Gold _1M_1299 plan (250Mbps) plan. This morning, I received the following sms:
Your plan unlimited_2 days is now active on jiofiber.
Entitlements: Benefits 1. Unlimited data, unlimited voice,,,, etc,,,,,

Questions:
1) Who gave Jio the right to change my plan unilaterally?
2) What they conveniently do not mention is the new unlimited _2 days plan only carries a speed of 100Mbps.
3) I called customer care, asking them to remove this new plan imposed on me. They said it is a lockdown offer
and I told him why give lockdown offer only for 2 days and that too only at reduced speeds?
4) I have paid for 250 Mbps plan, and expect to get that speed for 30 days.... Plain and simple...
5) The worst part is imposing a new plan with reduced speeds on the customer without even giving the customer the power to choose for himself. Jio should be ashamed of itself to stoop to such levels....

Never expected Jio to do these kind of unethical practices...
Complaint has been raised and they said it will take 2 hours to get back to the original plan.... We will see.....

Update: Jio cannot even register my complaint due to technical issues...
They apparently had no technical issues when they downgraded my speed, without my approval, but when I complain to get my original speeds back
they have technical issues to even register my complaint --
Shame on Jio and the way this company is run.......
You have taken wrong brother ..

Jiofiber from past 1 month has been giving unlimited data for the last 2 days of a month which is what you have got in your case.
After the duration time you will go with your normal existing plan dont worry

Look, I am not defending Jio. They are known to be disorganised and their customer service is sub par. Knowing this, we either use a better ISP or if we choose them or have no option then we have to be prepared for such issues. Their whole network even went down for over a day, never mind less speed. That is why we are advising you not to worry too much even though it is technically wrong. It is just for 2 days and 1 day is already gone. All you are doing is wasting your time and energy by calling CC and having an engineer visit. You know their engineers or CC will have no clue and would only waste your time. As far as the difference between speeds, obviously there is some but it is not stark enough to prevent you from carrying out most activities.

I don't think they will deliberately imposed the plan on you alone in this whole universe. You need to check, there might be the case if any member of your family might have activated the same without your knowledge. I might be wrong and if so, you have full right to file the complaint into consumer forum with the proof you got with you.
Because, everyone else is getting the plan as a voucher which is to be activated by them personally, as per their own choice. Don't talk about the transperancy and the speed as it is just a 2 day complementary voucher. I got 6 hours service suspension and with respect to that I'm getting unlimited data for 2 days, not at all bad deal. Don't fall into the negative side of it, see the positive side in it.
Just curious: Do you work for Jio?

It is nowhere written that it has been imposed on any customer.

Did you even bother to read that article you linked to? It clearly has no connection to JioFiber and refers to prepaid mobile plan subscribers only. 🙄

Any imposition of unlimited (or otherwise) plan without taking the consent of the consumer is illegal and amounts to deficiency in service. However, at present, the country is ruled by Adani and Ambani and their cronies so there is nothing the consumer can do about it. And there are blind supporters among the residents who will try to shut down any voice of dissent.
So either stay quietly without a murmur with their dictatorial practices or switch service provider, if you have any such option at the first place.

Hear you loud and clear....

@icecool20
back to normal speed??
Any change in validity?

If validity is same. Give complaint to higher level. Expose this.
May be bug or they given intensionally.

If it's bug they will correct it. People like you with higher plans will effect. You are paying for 250 mbps
