I had applied for Bharath Fibre on 9th April 2020 on self-care portal, the status says " Transferred to FMS" and I haven't heard from anyone. I already have ADSL Landline connection. After Voluntary Retirement scheme was announced, there are just a handful number of people in the exchange and I can't even get to meet them.
Nearest telephone pole/point is 100 metres to my Gate. No idea why the request is being ignored.
Oppurtunity Number : 122783684512 (If any BSNL employee is seeing this, help me out 🙂 )

I tweeted to BSNL, no response.

Any suggestions on what I could do?

You should try to find if there's a BSNL LCO in your area and ask them directly.
I was in the same situation as you for more than a year. Kept applying on the selfcare portal but nothing happened.
And then one day saw a two guys laying fiber and asked them directly and got the connection in a day.

My LCO gives connection from Railwire. He doesn't provide BSNL Connection.

FMS is basically their Franchisee Management System. They have opened your request, now it’s up to the team if they want to cater or not

I called the nearby BSNL Office, he said there were no staff to underlay Fibre cable from the exchange even though many users in my locality were asking for a connection... Such a lame excuse, no idea what to do next.

Guys, anybody knows how much LCO/BSNL charges for extra fiber cable needed during installation?? My place is about 500mtrs from their pole and LCO is asking for extra charges. :-(

They may ask upto ₹15/mtr. Better avoid LCO and ask BSNL itself to extend the line. If BSNL does it they won't charge you, but if LCO does he may. The problem is getting BSNL to extend the network is next to impossible. So, if you need swift connection, you need to trade off money for time saved.

You are being quoted a really high price, i was charged 2500 for the installation which included a 2.5 ghz wifi ont which we had to purchase from them, or i could have paid 500 if I had my own ont. Although I have purchased the router, still any issues are covered by the LCO. (my friend was having some problems with his connection, it was narrowed to a router issue, the LCO just gave him a new one). They have a really good team and are very prompt to resolve issues. In the 2 months that I have the connection, the internet has gone down just once, that too for 2 hours.

The only reason I suggested Railwire is that their customer support is really good, you just have to raise a ticket from your customer portal and the backend answers usually within a few hours, although my LCO just resolves issues on directly calling him. Also, you can talk to the NOC guys, which handle the backend and they are quite knowledgeable, which is a problem I faced when I had BSNL.
