Internet connectivity with laptops/notebooks

Hi, I'm planning to get a data one connection at my home. I have a notebook which has an internal modem already installed. Can some one plz let me know if this is suffiecient to set up the connection? or is there a need to get an additional modem. Also could you plz the procedure of goin abt with the connection set up ie ppl to contact etc ... 🙁

The internal modem is not a DSL modem. So you still need an external DSL modem. BSNL guy gives a xerox copy of intstructions to configure your modem. I just spent 5 minutes setting up my connection.

Ya, You just need to have a ethernet card in your notebook(which you must already be having) but you will surely have to use the router cum modem provided by the BSNL to get connected to their Internet.Sandy
