Selected Maybe. That's because I need more info on it. If it's a paid subscription, it'll be great for 999 a year, just like Amazon Prime, and not more than that.

401 MONTHLY PLAN
Rs 401 monthly plan provides 90GB (3GB/day * 28 + 6GB) DATA, unlimited voice calling and access to Jio apps valid for 28 days. Users recharging with this plan will also get 1-year subscription of Disney+ Hotstar VIP worth Rs 399

2599 ANNUAL PLAN
The Rs 2599 annual plan offers 740GB (2GB/day *365 + 10GB) data, unlimited voice calling and access to Jio app for 365 days. Users opting for this plan will also get 1-year subscription of Disney+ Hotstar VIP worth Rs 399

ADD-ON DATA PACKS
In addition to the above plans, Jio users that do not want to run out of data, can also opt-in for a combo-pack of data add-on vouchers, starting at Rs 612 (12 vouchers of Rs 51) that provides data benefits as well as a 1-year subscription of Disney+ Hotstar VIP worth Rs 399.

For all you know it could be a typo and it could be 1106 and that would make sense. With 220 GB.

due to no confirmation on IPL(don't think it will happen this year),no one is interested in Hotstar (there are plenty of ott's now),so not much of subscription money is coming,so hotstar be like "Ambani ji se deal kar leta hu,kuch to paisa milega".. 😛

Hotstar/Diney know their audience.. People watching sports/Indian regional stuff will not pay that much, whereas people looking for premium content from abroad would. Hence they could even afford increasing the price from 999 to 1499 and hope their subscribers to continue.

Maybe with IPL , they could have thought of increasing the 399 to a bit more - but given the current circumstances, no sports and not a lot of new content - their hopes of any such increase are gone for the near future.

I personally am on the 299 older plan sports only plan with free upgrade to VIP. I am unlikely to pay anything more than 299 or 399 except for the sports (myself cricket and another family member who watches EPL)
