Hi guys,

I do not get wifi signals in one of my rooms at the far end with the default router (BDT-121 Dual band 11AC GPON Router) that came with Airtel. I have an additional D-Link Router with me which I started using in AP mode to extend the range and it works fine.

The problem is that I now have two SSIDs and have to manually change them while moving in the house everytime - which is very inconvenient.

Did some research on the internet and I understand that using a MESH Router will solve my problem. However, since I am a novice, I would like to understand from you:

* If it is possible to solve my problem with the existing hardware that I have. It is D-Link 825ac. I also have an additional TP-Link TL-WR841N

* If not, there are a lot of mesh routers available on Amazon. Which one would you suggest - reasonably priced and good performance.

* Alternatively is there any other Router which I can purchase having good range to cover the entire house (1700 sqft) ?

Thank you in advance for the help.

P. S. - I did not find any existing thread on this topic so created a new one. In case there is one, you may link it down here please.

Whoever has the bride option setup successfully on their Huawei, can you pl share the screen shots. Thanks in advance

It's expensive in online stores, I bought it from Oxford Infotech, Bangalore towards end of June. Got two units for 10.5k shipped (incl GST).

These are the same changes that I did on my Huawei for bridge mode except I selected all the lan ports instead of just one lan port as you did.

Also did you make changes in the existing Internet profile or did you create a new profile for bridge mode.

As of now I've packed Asus in shelf. I guess the firmware update caused this issue. I'll be getting the TP-Link Deco M9 from cousin tomorrow. Will verify with that again in bridge mode.

Also I see you've access points from Ubiquity as well as posted here. What's your setup. Huawei in bridge mode coupled with which router and are the access points used for better range. Do the access point that you use have any additional features like parental control, QoS, etc. Thanks.

@Venkata Ramesh Chandra V Selecting the lan port does not matter much. You can give 1 or all to the profile.

My setup is as follows: Huawei modem (bridged) >pfSense router>switch>access points.

The access points dont do any routing, they are dumb devices. What you pay for Ubiquiti is the highly reliable wifi and ease of use with their software controller. The routing is done via the pfSense router. This series is a good watch if you are interested in pfSense.

Should i follow the same procedure as mentioned below with TP-Link Deco M9 which I followed with Asus.

1) Setup Huawei in bridge mode.
2) Configure PPPoE on Deco M9 with dhcp and WiFi.

Thanks.
