My act renewal is probably due and airtel 799 + 299 unlimited plan looks nice, anyone in Delhi can tell how both are ? up time i know both are good. Net quality..pings etc. ? which one is better..

unlimited calls don't need on airtel though good, but have airtel another landline and don't want to touch it and get re wiring done !

Routing and backend is same acc to what i have used.
ACT customer support and billing sucks though. Airtel is top notch in both the aspect.
If you are easy with that then why change? unless you need more than 1TB data of 1049 Act plan.

Airtel

Pros
Zero downtime
Consistent speeds regardless of load
Better Support
More Data

Cons
Worse ping, jitter, routing. But still more than good enough most of the time.

ACT

Pros
Slightly better ping, jitter.

Cons
Occasional downtime.
Support is good. But not as good.
Less data.

I recently got upgraded to Airtel Fiber and on 999/300/200 plan and I have ACT as well which has not given me any trouble also. I will do some comparisons after around half a month of usage.

I just wanted to give startup act a chance 😀 but if quality is so poor people will just end up leaving..only.

For act they just connected their wire to my router and connection was done in 10min of person arriving.

how does airtel work I might go with basic 799 plan and ultd data option. Do airtel force their equipment on us like they have in past ? Is only amount to be paid to airtel is bill charge ? I don't plan to pay them in advance.

1. Is it mandatory buy airtel Nokia router ? How much is it ? As I plan to use use my current Asus one, infact I don't want airtel nokia router at all..

2. I don't plan to use phone calls etc on airtel connection so don't want splitter etc either.

You must use their router at least in bridge mode as you get fiber to your home not Ethernet cable. You may use your router for the rest like ppoe auth, firewall e,t,c
