I do not think the SATA ports for laptop optical drive bays are SATA 3. In most cases they are slower than the primary SATA port.

It is always recommended to install boot drive as a main hdd and the drive for data on optical drive, rk is right

ok ... and also my ssd is idling at 46-48 degress .. not doing anything and didnt installed windows... should i be worried or is it normal for ssd ? my hdd temps are normal between 36-40 degress

It depends how humid the room where u use your laptop or how much dust accumulated on laptop fan, open the bottom of the laptop, clean the dust on fan and other parts, If the laptop is very old, you may need to apply good quality thermal paste, under the fan and on processor that u might need a computer service guy to do that

If everything above said is okay, the temp may still raise if u run a processor intensive software or game that bottle necks it. Now since u have not installed anything on SSD, The raise in temp may be because of dust or humidity

I installed my ssd in main hdd bay it works perfect.... I cleaned everything inside but still my ssd idling at 46-48degrees but my hdd is at 38degrees this time and my room is kinda hot I think that's the issue but anyhow my problem got resolved..
