dsl modem light is continuously blinking (not intermittently) even when no devices are connected, neither lan nor wifi (wireless turned off). modem is in pppoe mode.
i have already tried resetting the modem - no use.
i have tried using bridge mode (0/35) - no use, still blinks. as soon as 0/35 connection is added, blinking starts. if i keep 0/32, then no blinking but then internet will also not work.
the blinking happens even when using multiplay as username & password in pppoe mode - means without working internet also.
tried using different modem - same problem. as soon as dsl link stabilises, blinking starts.
this problem is happening from last 3 to 4 days only. it persists for several hours continuously. i was expecting it to go away on its own but now i am fed up.
data consumption due to this blinking is close to nil or negligible as checked from usage site. but it causes high ping and less network speed in normal browsing.
i read this article which says it may be arp requests etc but i am not satisfied - Why Does My Modem Blink Even When I'm Not Using The Internet?
looking forward to working solution from experts here.
