i think he means milestones like stones. Those are main fiber line. Mostly for tower or intercity connectivity.
 
It connects to 4g towers.

Fiber broadband connection lines are different.
They lay another fiber wire for that.
 
@Dtechgadgetguy Airtel is using LCO to bring xstream fiber here. I was told by LCO guy that fiber is gonna launch on 15th of this month. I will be able to apply for a new connection on 15th. The plans will be

About airtel ofc poles. Yes fiber is here for years but it was laid only for commercial users. Local Isps are using these cables for years to provide internet.

Then what difference it makes, if you are through Airtel or any other ISP........

TriplePlay uses Airtel as backend....... have better plans....
